I was shocked at how much better Mauger looked. Corey Moore was much better too

Yes. Very pleased with safety play. Mauger played with great instincts the entire game. Corey Moore laid a couple of Shawn Williams type hits as well. If those two can play consistent, I'll feel much better about our secondary going forward.

Good thread. I have nothing specific to add since everyone has already covered my observations. We had a number of players playing at a higher level throughout the game and especially in the 2nd half when it counts most. I think it's pretty obvious that Pruitt and improved strength and conditioning has had a very positive impact on our entire team.

Quincy Mauger

I was going to say that too....he was involved in alot of plays .... including the shoulder pad into the ball that killed a Clemson drive (at least I think that was him).

I think Maxey had blocks that were key on at least 3 different touchdowns. Unbelieveable for a walk on.

Herrera isn't unsung at all, but he played the best game of his career and was so much better at covering the running backs on swing passes than he was last year.

Theus was the 5 star we recruited on Saturday.

Towns and Bennet blocked tremendously.

Reggie Davis didn't muff a punt!!!!

Every time someone talks about Herrera I go back to the '12 SECCG. Grantham's silly arse kept him on the bench for most of the game while Bama's backs ran roughshod over us. And he was our best run stuffer at the time. We will miss him when he's gone!

I'll pick the coaching staff.
No wasted TO's.
Everyone looked like they were lined up right, even during mass substitutions.
We punted and let our D do their job.

That's because everybody was talking about Floyd after the game and nobody mentioned Herrera. For him to be named DPOTW was a shock to everyone.

And I agree on Erickson as I have already nominated the punters.

Mason is actually not a bad choice. Did something Murray didn't do. He beat Clemson in the opener.

Murray would've put up more numbers, but he also might have more turnovers. Mason was solid and mistake free.

While I still hold a grudge from the Vandy game, Reggie Davis was solid.

Kudos to Morgan. We ignore the chip shot field goals until you miss one like they did. I noticed they sent their kickers out of the locker room to chip over the Georgettes for a while prior to the normal time.

BTW..I not sure what outfit they (Georgettes) had on but it came in just second to the time they came out wearing what appeared to be nothing but football jerseys.

This is the first game. We should see the most radical improvements in these first few games.

This is a great thing.

Was it Pruitt or Ekeler who said we want to turn the game for the opposition into a game of... "Find 84"....

CMR sounded pretty cool during his halftime interview when talking about Gurely " He says he wants the ball" so were gonna give it to him......I do think I've ever seen that look on his face.... He knew what was coming after the break...
