But the philosophy shift to zone in the 4th qtr should be killed with fire, then the ashes flown by the Kirby Chopper over the Atlantic and dumped in international waters. Will call it the Willie Martinez defense as that is what it looks like.

That shite is what cost us all of our big games.

Great game, great to notch an SEC west road win.

Kirby stated they didn’t do anything different. They played to keep all the plays in front of them. I blame the offense in the 4th. It was more conservative than at any point during the entire season.

The blames lays on the offense but I don't think I buy what Kirby was saying there. It's fine, they won, but that looked like a change on the defensive side.

I wouldn't expect him to say anything different, but he did change to a zone.

Anyone who has played and spent a life time in football could see the drive after our last td was zone. Soft zone at that.

It was zone. Auburn didn’t just suddenly start running better routes to open up the middle of the field in the 4th

They played zone throughout the entire game. They were trying to do what they did to Florida. Make them work clock and dink dunk down the field. Unfortunately, they hit a couple big plays that ate up a lot of yards, and our offense hung the defense out to dry

The CBS and UGA analysts both commented on the shift into a prevent/zone. Kirby is lying

This happened vs ND, Florida, and now Auburn. When will we learn?

We still won all 3 so probably not any time soon.

Also known as the Dan Quinn defense.

That works better if the O can still produce something late.

I'm far from a doom and gloomer, but I have to admit I'm worried. Need the best performance of the year to win the SEC. Does UGA have the players and the leadership to produce in the highest leverage moments?

When Kirby lets the DC call plays.

I do.

People confuse defensive formation with defensive playcalls/philosophy.

I don’t have a problem letting your opponent ice the game for you when you’re up by two scores...ala Mullen.

However, 8 mins to go is WAY to early for that....especially if you’re going to soften up on your defense.

When your offense can’t sustain any drives to rest the defense do you think they will have the energy to continue playing man?
