So which changed? Something changed
Against Florida, they spread the field and we went to a dime package defense. Something that we hadn't been in all game.
But instead of blaming the DC for the dime defense, you should recognize that the defensive formation is dependent upon the offensive personnel.
Formations are mostly reactionary to the offensive personnel.
As has been said in other threads about Auburn, we mixed zone and man coverages late. The first Auburn TD was against man coverage and the receiver was schemed open for an easy TD.
We change the defensive plays constantly to keep the OC/QB on their toes guessing (hopefully slowing down the execution a hair for the defense to pick apart the play).
Fans want to bitch and blame and kick shite. I get it. You're pissed so someone gets tarred and feathered by internet coaches such as yourselves. But sometimes you have to tip your hat to the opposing team for executing better than us (it doesn't matter what the playcall is when someone blows an assignment or misses reading their keys).

Worked well against Florida but we still only won by 1 TD. Nix in October would have flopped and we would have won by 3 TDs. Nix next year might be good enough to win. Sure wish we had Plumlee waiting in the wings. I hope Mathis will be as good as LSU's Ohio State castoff.

This happened vs ND, Florida, and now Auburn. When will we learn?
Apparently never

We were playing a deep cover 2 man under the entire first Half. We peppered it with some blitzes, stunts, and some other random stuff, but it was all based off a core deep cover 2. The only thing that changed was how Auburn attacked it. Y’all need to watch the replay and pay attention to the safeties and where we drop on the snap. We do a great job showing different looks. Nothing changed other than the perception of people who don’t take the time to understand football. Stop repeating shite you hear from people who don’t know what the frick they are talking about.

My problem boiled down to a lack of pressure on Nix, we had a true three man front a bunch late. Otherwise I understand
Au has serious playmakers, I would rather make it hard on them to execute period, than try to tackle them after they catch the ball.

Murf baldwin has video of us also in cover 3 in the first half. And not even a conventional one (stevenson dropped from slot defender to deep middle and we brought the safeties up).
We change shite to confuse a young QB.
But I agree with you. Sometimes, it is about the other team.

Again, we were mixing the pressures... which includes 3 man.
You blitz and miss and Nix runs up the gut for 20.
We tried to spie with Nakobe Dean on a 3 man pressure but he got deked by a pump fake and Nix scrambled for a key first down (10 plus yards).

We certainly rolled to that a few times, but it was out of a cover 2 look. We also blitzed one of the safeties out of the cover 2 look. Bottom line, our aggression in the first half was from man and stunts, yet, most of the time, that was backed by a deep cover 2. Prevent defense is when you play cover 3 or 4 with safeties and Cb’s a good 20 yards back. We NEVER played that. We played cover 2, Man Under with safeties 12-15 yards deep both halves.
