I'm already bored with the search. I hope we announce the new coach tomorrow and get started. It appears the bitching we heard about Richt will pale compared to the bitching we will hear about the new coach whoever he may be.

but it is making our program look bad.
Like Missouri bad, or LSU bad?

The players loved their coach. Richt is a damn good coach/father figure to a lot of them. That being said, he had to go. Not everything lasts forever, but i have a lot of respect for Richt. DGD

Agreed. I'm sure they're not happy becaus if anything else Richt was a positive influence in these guys....but you've got to win the big games to coach at this level...hell all they have to do is look at all the changes going on elsewhere to know this is true.

So McGarity had security brought in for the players only meeting?

Speaking of Missouri, some there want Richt. They would die for a string of 10 win seasons.

That info was posted in this thread on page 17. Old news that I kinda hope is true.

I hadn't seen the Richt as AD part.
Seems loco.

UGA always does this sort of thing 2-3 years later than it should.
That said, Richt's heart really hadn't been in this the last few years and the nails in the coffin were the complete whiff on quarterback recruiting for the Aaron Murray successor and then Shotty.
Clearly 145 wins in 15 years is no longer enough to keep the cash flowing, and there's more folks asking, "So why can't we be an elite program like Alabama?"
I hope the admin did their homework but it sounds like this was in the works for 2 months at least.
Here's to the future.

And the best they could do was come up with a member of the letterman's club.

Just how it all went down having conflicting reports from many different people. Players being very unhappy which I understand coaches around the country in disbelief.

Richt looks like he wants to kill him in this press conference.
