Just a question...

If Monken does leave, why not Bobo?
Did he not have higher scoring offenses than Monken has?
I seem to remember we had 43+ ppg when Bobo was OC.
Am I wrong?

I think he'd do well, but we just went back to back with Monken so losing him will hurt, no matter which way you look at it. Bobo, as good as he may be, is still a step down from Monken. At this point Monken is the hottest commodity in football. Understandable so.

Considering our status in the CFB universe I see no reason not to have a national search for the best possible fit as far as scheme, recruiting, experience, etc. If Kirby decides that Bobo fits that description then I trust him.

I think its Bobo all the way if Monk lives. The difference is we just need consistency in system, we have the player advantage an own the trenches unlike his time under Richt. Not to mention a bad arse defense.

I’m convinced we’re just so much better than everyone else at the moment, that you could be the OC and we’d still compete for the NC.

Not just that, he worked with Monken's system for an entire season. On the job training. One would think it would be the same system.

Nah man, Monken is doing some cool shite with the offense. We have good players but Monken is the straw that stirs the drink.

I never understood the Bobo hate. I always thought he was an excellent OC, and if Kirby likes what he’s seen in the past year since he hopped back on staff, I trust both of them.
My only concern would be a question of if Bobo has adapted offensively over time. Is he stuck in 2013’s offensive concepts like Jimbo? I doubt that, but you never know.

Not a chance in hell Kirby goes back to that shite.

If I recall correctly, Bobo grew into the OC job quite well and we were sorry to see him go when he took the head job at CSU, but wished him well.
I'm guessing he was brought on for the same reason as Muschamp - an experienced and successful assistant (who is an outstanding recruiter) to serve as insurance if/when other teams poach our other coordinators.
I think it would be a lot of fun to have former Georgia players as HC, OC and DC. And I think we will do very well with that staff if it comes to it.

He has been game planning with the dude and I’m sure he got a PHD education on elevating an offense

This right here...everytime I was like, what was he seeing to think that would work?

Such bullshite. Not even close but somehow this idiocy is the narrative for mouth breathers who have zero recollection of his time as OC.
Fun fact of the day:His 2014 offense with a first year QB scored more PPG than our '22 team.

While I agree with what you are saying comparing these 2 teams is silly. 2014 had to score more to win and ran it up against a couple of bad teams. We play a different game now.

Our 2014 offense was good. My only gripe was 1 & G from the 2 down in Columbia with Gurley, Chubb, and Marshall at your disposal. Other than that, no big deal. Hopefully now that Brady retired, Monken won’t go there and return.

Hutson Mason was the QB. He was fine if he didn’t have to throw past 15-20 yards. Aside from that he was booty. Any team that could shut down the run beat us. Gurley had the longest pass of the season at 50 yards.

He appears to be the only OC Georgia has had in the last 2 decades who has cracked the code on taking what your opposing D gives you and beating them with whatever weakness their scheme exhibits.

They did?
They beat 4 ranked (AP Final) by an average of 29 PPG.Including:Clemson, Missouri, Auburn and Louisville.
No doubt a different era and different offenses but the recollection of Bobo's time as OC on this board is far removed from reality.

Like who?
I guess you could say Florida but Nich Chubb was our only RB with a pulse and still had 156 yards.Brendon Douglass was the backup and Gurley didn't play.
