Very disappointing news. He's a DGD and I wish him all the best in the NFL. I hope he proves the haters wrong.

Because NFL scouts told him he needs to play in a offense with more progressions and combination route concepts.

I'm sure there's an offense like that out there that will take a chance on him.

Although I won't go this far, I have to say Kirby stuck his neck out for Fromm, got burned, then continued to shield Jake. Fromm, however, left the program out to dry at the first opportunity - in a year when it really could have been a win win.

He's a Dawg, so I'm obviously rooting for him, but he's way down on my list of former Dawgs.

This was just dumb.

He needed another year to have a legit shot IF he could improve. I don't see him doing any better than Aaron Murray or David Greene in the NFL. Great college QB's....but that was about it.

Just think of all the time we spent bitching/defending Fromm and now he's gone.

Oh well....good luck Jake. Next man up!

Some of yall in here crying and bitching about Fromm leaving like he just lit a UGA flag on fire are ridiculous. The kid didn't owe anyone in Athens, least of all us, a thing.

Not bitching...I just think it was a dumb move on his part.

Agreed. 3 great years. Can’t say anything bad about Fromm at all. If he wants to compete in the NFL good luck to him.

I think it says something about his confidence in Coley and the offensive scheme.
With his development stagnant, and Kirby sticking with Coley, maybe he didn't see any upside in staying.

Agreed, I’m disappointed he didn’t like UGA’s chances of winning a title enough to stay

He does have bad film out there. Just wait until the combine and Fromm gets torn apart by the analysts (it is their job... know it is coming. They will tear apart Herbert and Tua as well)

Agreed. From hearing him speak in QB1 and why he chose UGA, he sounds like the type if kid who will never back down (or slow down) from a challenge. He left unfinished business here in Athens. But I dont doubt that he did his best.

How much BS did his agent spew at him when discussing draft grade? I know if my team drafts him before the 5th or 6th round, I'll be livid.

I just don't get it. He had a pretty bad season and obviously regressed as a QB. His footwork was all over the place, he was missing wide open receivers, he could only get a rhythm going with a single WR all year (Cager) when NFL ready QBs should be able to make most receivers look good in college, and he didn't deal with pressure well, at all.

He was in perfect position to come back to a loaded roster and secure a 1st round slot with a solid season. He's costing himself a shite ton of money by leaving early. If Aaron Murray couldn't cut it in the NFL, Jake Fromm sure as shite won't.

I kind of agree. Fromm comes off as potentially a great college QB. His best career path may be more like Kirby Smart (All SEC safety) or Kellen Moore.

That said, I wish him the best.
No different than Matt Stafford who used UGA as an NFL developmental tool but only gave us 1 game (Michigan State bowl game) where he looked like a fully developed college QB. I wish we got to enjoy a more developed version of Fromm in college. I think that version is still out there.

Might wanna go see what Newman did last year before spewing horseshite.

Looks like he is about the 4th or 5th best QB in the ACC. 26 TDs and 11 Ints. I'm only moderately impressed. Without an upgrade in OC play calling I see us dropping in quality.

He was #9 in the ACC in pass efficiency vs conference opponents (12 TD/9 INT, 56%).

According to @BruceFeldmanCFB, Wake Forest grad transfer QB Jamie Newman is considering Georgia, Maryland, Washington, Oregon and Miami (FL),

Jake Fromm's decision feels like it'll be the domino to get the grad transfer QB market going.
