To me he has the bulk of Thomas Davis, the athleticism of Alec Ogletree and the headhunting instincts of Rennie Curran.

Absolute freak.

I have been blown away at plays this year where you see a red blur going across the field to make a tackle, only to find out at the end it was him. Absolute monster.

He should stay for his senior year

This is exactly what I was thinking earlier this week when trying to compare him to a former Dawg. He's basically a hybrid of those two. Special player.

With a possibility to win a NC next year he actually might stay

Yes. Best defensive player we've had since Pollack.

I dont know. We lose a lot next year in Carter, Bellamy, Wynn, Sanders, Payne, Blazevich, Sony, Nick, Atkins, Reggie Carter, Wims, and Parrish.

Throw in Juniors like Baker, Trent, and Roquan that could leave and we may be looking at our best chance to make a move this season. Now if recruiting goes the way we think it could the next two years, we may be looking at a dominant, complete team in 2019

Man if we could get him and Trent to stay. Carter & Belamy staying has been huge for them and for us. Kirby needs to preach that shite. Last year Carter would of went late and Belamy would of went undrafted, now they are probably both first rounders.

Been saying this for quite sometime.'17 is our best shot not '18.Our offense might be pretty potent but we lose #27 and #1.Defense will be extremely young especially if we lose those Jr's.

Right now I'm actually wondering if based on current trajectories if Trent might be more likely to stay and Roquan go... kinda weird. Definitely would have assumed the opposite to be most likely before the season started but Trent having a very quiet season. Not a bad season by any means, but with Carter and Bellamy making so much noise and Roquan fricking flying around like god damn Iron Man, there's only so much "noise" to be made right now it seems. I think Kirby and Co will encourage them to go if they project in rounds 1-2 in general. Obviously, you would love to have them return, but I think Kirby sees far enough in the future to see the value in having high draft picks coming off of his defense from the recruiting angle.

Trent hasn't put up the stats but him and Atkins have been a force. They get constant penetration. Atkins especially doesn't get enough credit. So many good players on this defense.

Oh for sure. They are a big part of why Zo and Dav are having so much success... they are demanding attention. At some point teams are going to try to dedicate to stopping them and likely open up the door for a big day for one or both of them. I do wonder though if the quiet stat production lowers the draft projections at all.

Roquan's a little undersized for the NFL no? Maybe he'll be inspired to stay after seeing what Lorenzo and Davin did though.

Over on Walter Football, he's already moved up to the #1 ILB prospect already, and that was prior to last night.

quote:

Roquon (sic) Smith*, ILB/OLB, Georgia
Height: 6-1. Weight: 225.
Projected 40 Time: 4.57.
Projected Round (2018): 1-3.
9/23/17: Scouting sources have been raving about Smith this year, and he has been tremendous for Georgia. Smith had a great game against Notre Dame in Week 2 and has been all over the field for the Bulldogs. The fast and instinctive Smith flies around the field making tackles while also showing the ability to play in pass coverage. He has drawn comparisons to the Buccaneers' Lavonte David and the Falcons' Deion Jones.

Smith has 19 tackles with one sack and one pass batted this season. In 2016, he totaled 95 tackles with five tackles for a loss, one pass breakup and two forced fumbles.

LINK

The rest of that list is guys anywhere from 6'0" to 6'3". And 230 is probably about the right playing weight for his frame coming out of college with the expectation they can add a bit more in the pros...
