Is anyone concerned about our running production between the tackles?

I liked the swing passes and outside runs from last week, but it seems like we are having to do that a lot with our new starting RBs. I’m just hoping it’s not a sign that this is something we’re going to struggle with.

Edwards and McIntosh aren't bruisers. Really miss Zamir, IMO

Idk, but starting to think Milton may have a vision issue, ALWAYS seems to get pulled down by his left leg, idk it's just odd to me. Maybe it's just me idk

McIntosh seems to get tackled too easily. Too many solo tackles when he's one on one. Many times I feel like there were more yards there to be gained.

I am not concerned. This is manufactured concern. Chill out and enjoy the ride.

No. They are taking what the defense gives them. Sit back and enjoy the show.

Not really.
We don't have the power running backs that we've had in the past and it rarely makes sense to run up the middle anyway. In short yardage situations we can run off-tackle as needed with our talented TE's leading the way.

Not too concerned with that, but Milton hasn't impressed me much, even those his numbers are good. He has cut his run to the inside when he had plenty of space outside several times already.

Just doesn't have that it factor that I thought he would...at least not yet.

Not concerned in any type of way. Enjoying the show. Would also like to point out that a lot of what is being said was also said about White & Cook at some point in their career. Can’t break tackles, vision..ect. They turned out ok hahah

Milton’s only problem is his lack of explosiveness. He cuts back in because he lacks the speed to get corner usually. I like his vision, power, even his long speed is decent. His short burst just isn’t great.

We depend on 3rd down conversions more than I'm comfortable with. I'd like to see more explosive plays. We had quite a few last season but Stetson started overthrowing long passes recently. Defense is solid like last year.

I definitely agree about Milton for as big as he is he should be your bruising running back, but he goes down super easy and I definitely questioned his vision. He doesn't hit the holes at the right places sometimes. For being a former five star running back. I've been slightly disappointed in his running style. Not going to be hard on him, but he does leave a lot to be desired.

Milton seems like he is 90%. One of his legs seems to not have a burst. Hoping we find a kid who can take that role. With that said, 6 can get enough yards between the tackles that requires the defense to respect him doing so and that opens him up in one on one situations in the pass game

Was he previously injured?

The freshman 22 seems like he can be a bruiser.

Seems crazy but I thought Samfords run d was pretty stout. Still have to play option teams at their level. They were in the ultimate bend dont break d with linebackers 10 yards deep at times breaking to the box at the snap.

I wonder if Stet had adjusted to the flat field at the Benz and the crown at sanford had him throwing a hair high last weekend? As it pertains to scoring more.

Milton doesn't go down super easy. He was trying to do what McIntosh and McConkey do and leap inside to avoid a tackle and he got caught on the leg and stopped. That isn't his normal running style and we won't see that a lot going forward.
Power comes with legs on the ground. He got caught with both legs in the air.

Milton is averaging 7.5 yards per rush (6.25 against very good linebackers in Oregon).
He runs inside zone, counter, and outside zone. That is our ground attack under Todd Monken.
We are fine between the tackles.
