He would do just fine for UGA and would be in it for the long haul.
Also think he is better at picking TB talent, gurley, chubb, michell etc...

No thanks. He wouldn’t be the worst but we can do much much better.

Dont know, bobo would come in without wanting a complete staff change.
He would allow for coaching consistency.

Isnt his son commited to Georgia too?
I hope the Monken thing is just rumor, but it’s gonna put Kirby in awkward position if true. Because I think Bobo would be very very interested . Not sure recruits want a recycled OC that just got fired by a rival after only one year

Nah, no need to get the band back together.

I am amazed we didnt put him on staff as an analyst after how auburn played bama.
I like promoting analyst that have been hcs into our coordinator roles for sonsistency in terminology and concept.

I think from a recruiting and developing standpoint he WOULD do fine. Plus he has a good blend of offensive philosophy and I think could mold a unit to fit personnel and circumstances.
However I would worry that there WOULD be too much all-uga influence in the upper ranks of the coaching hierarchy and I'm pretty sure this would be a concern for kirby too.
I bet if he has to hire a new OC it will be someone young and dynamic and maybe someone from outside typical southern footprint.

I was never a big fan of Bobo. He started calling plays in 2007 and I remember people constantly calling for his head up to 2012. There were always head scratching play calls. I think he owes a lot of his success to Stafford, Murray, and Gurley. He never came up as a candidate for head coaching jobs until Colorado St where he failed. He had 2 mediocre stints at SC and Auburn. I believe he is married to Vince Dooley's niece so I'd rather have someone come in detached from any legacy. If Kirby gets turned down by a few guys; then maybe. The first guy I would call is Joe Brady.

Brady left lsu, why would lsu allow that? Then fired in the nfl? He has more quesions than answers.
We need an oc who is long in the tooth. We own the trenches so we dont have to reinvent the wheel on o.

The offense set records in 2011 and again in '12 and was on the way in '13 til we lost multiple WR's.Also did an amazing job with Hutson Mason in '14.We saw what the shite show that our offense turned into when he left in '15

Yah, 2013 we had a ton of injuries and 2014 was pretty good. We could do worse but we could do better. Bobo would be in it for the long haul but that kind of means no one else wants him. Isn't that kind of a red flag? I doubt he gets any serious looks as a HC again. I know he and Kirby are friends but seems like that could cloud some of Kirby's judgement if things turn south. I would rather have someone completely disconnected from all the UGA legacy as our OC.

Didn't he come down with some kind of rare disease that messed him up at CSU?
Posted on 1/13/22 at 2:44 pm to lewis and herschel
If Mike Bobo played at Tennessee and then went on to have the exact same success at Tennessee as he did at Georgia, would as many Georgia folks be clamoring to hire him? Or is it a legacy bias? I wonder...

I thought he called plays pretty well with the talent we had on offense. The biggest concern I remember having is the obvious 3rd and long draw plays.
Posted on 1/13/22 at 2:53 pm to FinleyStreet
Could careless about his playing days. The offense he ran for us was exactly what we need now and will be improved by a drastically higher level of oline play.

My question has the game evolved to the point where Bobo might be a step backwards... ? Not that he wouldn't be good, just might run the risk of being behind the curve.

Spread with multiple running concepts and play action?
