I’d prefer he not run so that he can stay a hero and not get caught up in political bullshite.

Things I believe:
1. Herschel is a good person and LOVES his country and state
2. He is one of the most driven and successful individuals I have ever seen
3. He needs to stay the frick away from the US Senate for a number of reasons

Well, he really didn't say a lot in this story, other than he believed in God, and wanted to bring people together. If you don't agree with that, what do you agree with, or want to see? Just curious...

It has been a long time since ive thought that we had a productive and good senator.

If herschel can change that, then i am all for it.

But the odds are stacked against anyone walking in and making a difference in the senate.

If I still lived in GA, I'd vote for him. If Biden can be President*, Walker can be a senator.

The racist Liberal Supremacists won’t vote for him and will likely spend a lot of $$$ to destroy his character. Better he stays out of this and let the scumbags handle it.

I'm referring to him jumping in the "stop the steal" campaign. I don't know how telling people an election was stolen is "bringing people together".

So, you don't think the election was stolen?

A significant portion of this country knows the election was stolen. You won't bring people together by ignoring it.

Also, I don't think there's a way to bring this country together. You have a media that lies to the people every second of the day and social media that prevents alternative or conflicting information to the MSM narrative from being disseminated. You have corporations buying in to a destructive and divisive "woke culture" and those who don't also buy in to it are being marginalized. You have politicians that constantly lie to get re-elected and then work in their own interests instead of the interests of those they represent, and then they literally rig elections to stay in power. I could go on, but basically if you aren't a leftist communist with a questionable moral compass based in emotion, you are the enemy of the people right now. There are no more calls for tolerance that we heard so much from the left during the W. Bush years: it's now submit to the new narrative or you will be destroyed.

Unity in this country? Good luck. We just spent 4 years with a President that sought the interests of this country over the interests of the rest of the world (like China) and he was vilified and destroyed by the media every day because he said mean things on Twitter. We now have a President* that doesn't know what day it is most of the time. The rest of the world will walk all over us again, but hey, at least they will think we're weak instead of mean.

If you want unity, go back in time 4 years and call for it. We had 4 years of constant attacks, division, and "resistance", and now the left is calling for unity. Good luck achieving that.

This mindset is part of the problem though. Everyone "knows" they are right about everything. Nobody knows for sure if the election was stolen or not. Lots of black and white mindsets out there.

I agree with this 100%

I don't think Trump had the best interests of all Americans in mind. He loved his supporters, but never tried to love his haters. I agree about Biden, wish the Democrats gave us some coherent.

we probably needed this sooner than 4 years ago, but I agree. I think we are in too deep at this point.

I watched the hearings in GA and elsewhere as well as paid close attention to the results of election night. I have been paying attention to politics for decades and know what kind of worldview differences exist between folks in different political parties. I know most of the tricks they use and I know what to expect. I know the election was stolen based on what I've seen and the continual actions from the Democrats (and some bought-off Republicans) in these key districts/states that are continuing to fight transparency and secure elections.

COVID gave great cover for the cheating with the mail-in ballots. I knew there would be a massive attempt to steal the election as soon as the lockdowns started because I know how politicians think. I knew there would be calls for mail-in ballots and relaxed security measures as soon as the panic over the virus began, and it happened just like that. While certain politicians were saying it was too dangerous to vote, they were supporting looting, rioting, and demonstrating in large numbers in the streets at the same time, confirming that it wasn't safety they were worried about, but the results of the election. I hoped that the efforts to steal it would have been prevented or mitigated, but they weren't and we're now left with a sickly and mentally unfit old man in office who is the puppet of his handlers. It's sad. Very sad.

And no, having black and white mindsets aren't the problem. The problem is the lack of tolerance for differing viewpoints. That's what I mentioned in my previous post: those calls for tolerance from 15-20 years ago from the left are now calls to ideological submission. There is no middle ground with the left right now, and they are using their power and influence to force their views on the population, going as far as calling those who don't agree to them immoral, racist, x-phobic, and not worthy of being part of the social discourse (silencing opposition). A black and white mindset isn't nearly as dangerous as a mindset that seeks to destroy those who don't agree with their mindeset.

Fortunately for the left, they got to benefit just as much as the right and his friends from his ideology of "America First". Democrats got jobs along side Republicans and benefited from a focus on freedom rather than regulation. Whether his personal enemies in D.C. didn't benefit so much (especially those who made money from conflict in other countries) is a moot issue as Trump had a lot of enemies (from both sides of the isle) in D.C. and they made his Presidency hell for him for all 4 years, including two impeachments for purely political reasons.

Like him or hate him, his policies were for America, and not just red states.
