Zone coverage is better against Stetson Bennett. We are deadly against man coverage. And I mean deadly. Imagine Mike Leach with UGA talent deadly.
In the spring game, I remember corners bailing into zone. We played a lot in zone last year.
Lanning holds a lot close to the vest though.
Gonzalez and Manning are really physical corners, so I hope we press some against PAC schools.
Gonzalez is 6’2” 205 and Manning is 6’0” but can touch his ankles standing up. Jahlil Florence was Lanning’s first recruiting call leaving the stadium at the NCG. I would bet on him playing the 3rd spot at 6’1.5.” Lanning definitely is pursuing length on the backend.

That bodes well for the outside.
But we obviously attack from the slot and tight ends. 22 mph from both small slot receivers and large tight ends and a QB who can throw to green grass to let the targets run underneath it.
I'm looking forward to seeing what Lanning dials up. That mutual familiarity makes the contest very interesting.

The slot players don’t worry me. It’s the TE and RBs. Oregon sees fast slot players.

Well you'll get a healthy dose of Milton. You'll see shades of Nick Chubb in his running

Your offense is good everywhere. I am hoping Oregon catches you when it’s not a well-oiled machine.

If you cover them in man coverage, you will be sorry. Stetson led the SEC in yards per pass. Arian Smith has 5 catches (3 for TD). He was all conference for track this past season.. Ladd McConnell is another who hits 22mph.

How many fans do you think will make the trip out here? I mean, it’s obviously going to be a Georgia home game, but are we talking 70% red or 90%?

Hitting 22 mph doesn’t really mean a lot to me. Trikweze Bridges at safety (6’3” 205) hits 22 mph too. It’s a measure of top end speed only.

Auburn fans were impressed with our turnout in Texas.
Plane tickets are outrageous, so it’s hard to say.

As an FYI, our secondary looks like this:
Christian Gonzalez: Texas
Dontae Manning: Missouri
Trikweze Bridges: Alabama
Bennett Williams: California
Jamal Hill: Georgia
I don’t think SEC speed will be a shocker .
Also, Bennett Williams I think is that hybrid star spot that y’all use.

Right. We have Brock Bowers… you don’t. That’s kinda the point.

Yeah, Brock scares me. It’s not Ladd that keeps me up.

Arian Smith and AD Mitchell should do the same. Smith has world class speed. Mitchell is a stud and his route running is something else. He made Bama's 5* CB's look silly a few times. Heck then Rosemary and Ladd. Our TE's. I'm getting excited just thinking about it. We return most of our O so they will be better than last year and could be scary good.

If your 22 mph is playing trail technique (man coverage) against my 22 mph... then my 22 mph is going to hit the end zone.
It kind of matters whether you get caught from behind or not.
If I make a big deal out of man coverage, there are reasons.
And Brock Bowers is 6'4" 235 pounds hitting 22+mph. Your linebackers and safeties will be responsible for him in the slot.

Famous last words. And bookmarked for the post game cigar.

It's no secret that Georgia has big and fast players.
Oregon's starting 11 on defense from a speed/size/strength quotient is probably a lot higher than most Georgia fans realize.
The least athletic kid is Bennett Williams but the kid makes up for it with elite instincts. I am not worried about him on the field considering he made some of his best plays against tOSU skill players last year.
At the end of the day, Arian Smith's 100m time is the least of my worries. Most of Oregon's back 7 in last year's class ran a 10.7 100 meter or better in high school. Oregon had an Olympic hurdler at WR. Olympic track speed doesn't translate usually.
I want to see Manning not overcommit in coverage, Noah get better in his drops, a scheme that accentuates the our players abilities and for a healthy camp. You know...the football stuff.
The secondary for Oregon has really fast players. They sure as hell need to get better though.

I highly doubt Lanning wants to play man behind simulated pressures.

Jamal Hill, Trikweze Bridges, Noah Sewell and Justin Flowe are the safeties and inside linebackers. I am sure Brock is going to eat and get his.
Jamal Hill ran a 4.45 verified out of high school at safety with a 40 inch vertical and has arms like Manning.
Bridges, as I mentioned, goes above 22 MPH. He's all of 6'3" and really long armed.
Sewell ran a 4.18 shuttle in high school at 266 and bunch of baby fat. He's probably down to 245 now. Btw, that shuttle is just insane with those dimensions.
Off the top of my head, Justin Flowe ran like a verified 4.6 and 4.3 shuttle out of high school at 230.
If you're going to have a set of ILBs and safeties to try and slow down Bowers, that's a pretty good set. I am more worried about them being smart players, playing with good fundamentals than having the requisite athleticism.

So basically we have no chance is what you're saying. If only our O had went against your caliber of players before.
