Same with Florida, and they have lots of pro teams and it breaks 3 ways with the SEC having the flagship school.
Bumbles I will disagree as they bring academics and keep the B1G out of Atlanta AND Georgia.
SEC locked down TX with the 2 biggest schools so effectively now control that market.
More interesting would be adding Bumbles and their history with Notre Dame opens the door to land the Irish, the B1G's primary target from day 1 back in the 90's. It would be sweet justice if the SEC got both Utexas and Notre Dame.

Clemson makes the most sense. I think Arkansas would be a better fit in Big 12.

They would do well in Big 12 too. Hell, Mississippi State offers nothing either except for the Ole Miss rivalry.

It has zero to do with what makes sense from a football fans perspective. It’s business. Clemson brings nothing to the table from a financial standpoint. Unless college football does away with conferences and goes to a league format like the nfl, it will never happen. The SECs expansion formula are teams in lucrative markets that touch the current SEC footprint.

Unless the Big10 changes its AAC requirement, they likely wouldn’t add Clemson, but they definitely would add Georgia Tech, Miami, UNC, and Virginia.

Based on your argument, do you believe Arkansas or Clemson would add more to the conference? From a business perspective?

Texas already wants to run (ruin?) the SEC. Notre Dame dictates to the NCAA and they would dictate to the SEC if we brought them in. Let'em ruin some other conference.

Arkansas clearly because even though its a small market, its a market that we wouldn't otherwise already occupy with another team. Plus they are backed by big Walmart money and Jerry Jones.
Clemson would make sense if we didn't have South Carolina, but we do.

I would think Clemson would make sense specifically because of their rivalry with USCe.
Same with GT-UGA.

GT doesn't belong in the SEC and if you asked their student body and boosters, they would say the same.
My father in law went to Tech in the 70's and he said hell no to this question.
