No, im not just going to blindly call for Richts head when there is no one to replace him with. Im all for firing Richt if you can bring in someone who you are confident that can have just as much or more success than him at UGA. No one who fits that bill is out there to get at this time.

ETA Probably the only person who I think could possibly take over UGA and do better than Richt that would entertain coming here is Mark Dantonio. If we can get him then fire away.

I know people talk about USCe going after him whenever Spurrier retires since he played there. God I hope Dantonio never sets foot in Columbia.

Unfortunately, I respectfully disagree. I believe you and the faction of GA fans you represent are part of the problem. You are satisfied with good and are unwilling to risk what it may take to be great.

Fear of failure is the hallmark of the Disney dawgs.

I am not satisfied with good and i'm not scared of UGA firing Richt. But it is stupid to fire Richt if you cant get someone better and proven to replace him with that will actually leave their current job and that is a very very short list.

Also you think any good coach is going to come here if you get fired for not losing to tech since 2008, taking 3 of 4 from Florida, winning 5 in a row against Tenn and being 6-4(I think?) against Auburn?

Man nobody alive would wonder why it happened if Richt quietly retired. Nobody

We will have to agree to disagree. I choose to believe there are any number of coaches who, when asked, would jump at the chance to coach GA.

Firing him and ending up like UT is worse than sticking with Richt until he retires imo

Your response presumes a disastrous hire. While possible, it is not guaranteed.

At this point we know what we have in Richt.

Yes, we do. A guy who feasts on lesser opponents and loses to better ones, with 1-2 games a year where his teams come out totally unprepared and get humiliated. A guy who's 1-3 in his last four bowl games and who has finished unranked in three of the last 5 years. He's earned a pink slip if the AD wishes to give it to him.

After some thought I really think today was probably the most embarrassing loss during the Richt tenure. The loss at South Carolina in 2012 was indeed unacceptable, but they did have a great defense in which we did not game plan for.

The absolute worst part about today was the fact that Florida was still a terrible team. Florida beat Georgia completing only 3 passes and running around the edges for over 400 yards. This type of outcome would never happen to a well coached team. I'm not on the fire Richt bandwagon, but this crap year after year is really getting old. This team could easily lose 3 out of the 4 next games. I'm not going to sit here and break this game down as we all watched it unfold, but it was lost in every facet. Florida probably ran less than 15 plays, and definitely learned a lot from the second half of the Arkansas game. Great programs NEVER get blown out by bad teams. When people start calling for Richts head, the opposition always asks; "Who are you going to replace him with?" During Richts tenure you've had Spurrier on two different teams, Chizik (won a title), Gus Malzahn, Hugh Freeze, Kevin Sumlin, James Franklin, etc all hired during Richts tenure. You can't say better coaches aren't out there. As I said, I'm not on the fire Richt bandwagon, but these types of losses are unacceptable and embarrass the program on national tv.

Here is a good barometer of Richt's coaching skills.

You think he would have played Hudson Mason over Nick Marshall if he was still a dawg? My guess is Mason would be sending flutter flies down field while Marshall was carrying a clip board. Make your own judgement.

Firing a Richt right now does not make sense. I do get the feeling that richt is too comfortable with his job and that's scary. If we lose out yes fire him but hold the horses let's see how this unbelievable recruiting class does the next few seasons. He has three seasons to make a natty game or win one. It's been a long time coming

Oh for the love of god! What is it going to take? This was to be the year of the "dream team". Are you really proposing that GA sit back and wait on yet another recruiting class to ride to Richt's rescue?

I don't think anyone was looking at this year as "the year" with Mason at the helm and a new DC.

I'm pretty sure most here were projecting a 2 or 3 loss team before the season started.
