Your going to have to refresh my memory on the national championship game we reached....that one escapes me. I do, however, remember many "almost", "should have beens", and excuses. i.e. the ole' moral victory.

So not one name? No one to replace Richt?

I agree... It's expected and I don't let it get to me anymore. Until a change is made, UGA will always be known as the shingle school that underachieves.

And if Lincoln thought like that, the South would be independent. We have to stay the course with Coach McClellan.

You idiots dont get it. The point is you cant just fire Richt. No matter what you say Richt is a good coach who is capable of winning at high level. He isnt the best though and might not win a championship. So if you get your wish and Richt is fired, whats the end game? Who do we bring in? It is very likely he will be worse than Mark.

Richts seat was hot as its ever been right before the Gus bus pulled back into auburn. I know because I went into raving rants about hiring him back then. been a fan since he left the high school ranks

What is the point of calling people like me idiots? My vision of the program's ceiling differs from yours. I'm not satisfied with being ranked 10-15 at the end of the year with the occasional top 5 finish. As to who to hire, the AD gets paid a lot of money to make these types of decisions. McMuffin needs to earn his salary.

It is kinda embarrassing that a group that has so much coaching experience just got pantsed by a relative newbie.

Yes, the AD can. It happens to coaches all the time.

No matter what you say Richt is a good coach

Debatable.

who is capable of winning at high level.

He hasn't yet in 14 years of trying.

quote:

He isnt the best though

No kidding.

and might not win a championship.

That's being unduly optimistic.

A new head coach.

A new head coach.

That is possible. He might well also be better. He might be the same.

Not replacing someone because the change "could" be worse makes no more sense that keeping them because of what they "could" do in the future.

Both of those coaches have done more with less than any other coaches in America. If they had half the resources UGA had, they would have some hardware. Either one of those coaches would win multiple NC's at UGA

Don't go bringing logic in here. That stuff doesn't penetrate the Disney ears. It's not about winning NC its about consistency like going to the Outback bowl...every year! Now that's consistent.

Of course it does. At this point we know what we have in Richt. A lot of 10 win seasons with a lot of showings in the SEC championship game, may win a few and very occasionally be in the national championship picture (07,12) needing just a few breaks to go our way. That is more than 90% of college football can count on. Firing him and ending up like UT is worse than sticking with Richt until he retires imo.

Debatable, Baylor plays a joke as a schedule every single year and Chris Peterson has not done shite since one run at Boise composed of a couple of lucky recruiting classes.

They could also come to the SEC and find that they arent cut out to coach in this league and we could win 6 games a year for 5 years until we fire them and hire another coach.
