I feel like an important subtext in the whole Sasser/Fields dynamic has been glossed over/ignored/choose your adjective.

The two of them were friends and baseball teammates growing up in the East Cobb area. Sasser allegedly said, "Put MY n@#$ah in the game" after Fromm came back in the game the series after Fields had led the offense to a touchdown. He wanted his childhood friend to get more playing time.

Now, does that excuse Sasser's language? Absolutely not. But it does provide some context that could have been used by the school to challenge the waiver had they chosen to do so.

If a black baseball player said that, I’m pretty sure there would have been no issue. I’d say that has the look and feel of black privilege.

, but was he kicked out of school?

He's a talented baseball player with a potential pro future so I imagine he continued his baseball career at another school.

What about Jacob Eason? Why is Justin Fields more deserving of a waiver?

Jacob Eason is not a member of a protected class.

I honestly don’t care if Fields goes on to win a Heisman, a natty, and becomes a hall of famer in the NFL, I’ll be rooting against him his entire career after what he did to us.

I was hopeful that he would take his time, learn the offense, and get more and more snaps over the next few seasons and then ball out for us. He is selfish and likely has a poster of Barrack Obama on his wall based on his entitled attitude. I hope he grows up.

If you are rooting against Fields why do you hope that he grows up?

You sound like you're emotionally upset and conflicted. Get over it.

The rule is changing - it hasn’t been formalized yet but there have been so many waivers to the rule - I find it hard to believe any of you don’t get it by now - it’s happening.

Martell will get his waiver as well methinks.

Foo is the ultimate Fromm fan boy, excusing his every mistake or limitation, so it’s only natural for him.

Actually, I hope this leads to 4 year scholarship guarantees. It would be a good way to stop this while at the same time, be better for the average player.

Fungus get in my crotch sometimes, when work long hour in hot environment, skin swell and inflame near ballsack. Attract predators and parasites. Take off pants and underwear and lay spread eagle on bed in hotel to let air heal. Lay down towel first, not for courtesy, lay down towel for own protection.

This is jungle. This is rule.

Fields no lay down towel.
