Ohio State’s run game was really strong this year and even in this game. That and all their NFL talent on defense are what kept Fields from being exposed this season. Fields lack of mobility and field awareness were very apparent in taking those 4 sacks in the game. Championships are all that matter. Fields choking when it mattered the most defines his career and is undeniable proof that Ohio State can not and will not win a Natty until they get a true DT QB who is a winner.

Here’s what I believe and know. Fields is a vastly superior QB and talent to Fromm. I believe there was no legitimate QB competition last year, and Smart didn’t have the guts to make the tough choice, so he tried to placate Fields who was never going to sit behind an inferior player. I believe Fields would make this a significantly better offense, even with Coley. Coley is not responsible for Fromm missing wide open receivers. He’s not to blame for Fromm’s crap mechanics. He’s also not causing Fromm to not even see open receivers.

Given the choice of a veteran WR running an incorrect route or a young inexperienced QB making the wrong read, you choose to believe the WR ran the wrong route?

When a QB as good as Fields makes a throw that wildly off target and his receiver is not even on the TV screen, it’s usually an incorrect route rather than a bad read. Either way, it’s a miscommunication between QB and receiver. You want an example of a bad read, watch Fromm force a throw to a covered Robertson and completely ignore a wide open Swift for a game winning TD against South Carolina.

None of this matters. What will it take to make UGA football better? What will it take? That’s what I ultimately care about.

Based on what? This statement has been on repeat all year and there has never been backed up by actual facts.

This thread is more pathetic than Fromms stat line the second half of this season.

I can’t see the number, is that a QB who has won a playoff game?

Yeah, by handing off to the best SEC running back duo ever.

Indeed. Pinnacle of his football career was handing it off for 317 yards rushing. One of the most epic game managings of all time

Wow, I guess that is better than handing it off to a RB that got 200 yards by himself in a playoff game, yet having a career defining loss due to choking under pressure and throwing a pick....

Well he only has the one loss. Fromm has a bunch which one should we pick?

His loss was against one of the best teams in the country and defending national champions, and not 4-8 South Carolina at home.

I thought that was the big knock on Fromm.

"He can't win the big game!
"He chokes!"

That is not the real knock on Fromm.

The real knocks on Fromm are that he’s limited athletically and inconsistent with his accuracy.

Jake Fromm hit his ceiling his Freshman year and he peaked at “pretty decent”. He will never be anything more and it wasn’t enough.

Fields is playing on a team with 14 players who are expected to be drafted in the NFL in the coming draft. That doesn’t count the underclassman who are NFL talent. This Ohio State team is LOADED. Fields made it clear in this career defining loss that he can not win when faced with a team with a pulse. I guess he is lucky he had all that NFL talent on defense to keep the pressure off him all year along with a 1st round draft pick RB to hand it off to. That talent around him is the only reason he was even able to choke at the end of the game even though he kept getting sacked, missing open receivers, and throwing picks.

Why don't you stop with this trolling BS narrative. You keep trying to imply that OSU is more loaded than UGA and it's BS. Read it and weep.

LINK

You might also want to look at who has the most 5 stars. Fromm has played with a loaded team for three years.

Ohio State is loaded. Fields choked... he can not win the big game. Accept this.

That all may or may not be true and is just your opinion... but Fields is better than Fromm and that is a fact.

Not sure why you're posting this to me. My position isn't that Fromm is incapable or isn't due credit for the 2017 run.

My position is that he's not a dynamic QB on the level of Lawrence, Burrow, Fields, Tua, etc., and that is a distinct disadvantage for UGA.

If there is any justice in the world Fields will lose his starting job mid season next year to CJ Stroud.

If there was any justice, Fromm would have lost his a long time ago.
