HOLY frickBALLS
This article is part one of a series but, Jesus Christ, I think we all knew shite wasn’t right... I never realized it was THIS bad. Basically it seems like all the over-the-top rumors were true.

Pruitt's an assclown but Richt should have shut that down. He was so checked out at that point
What a shitshow.
What a shitshow.

Yeah, if a subordinate does that shite in front of your team, you have to dress them down on the spot and make sure everyone knows who the fricking boss is. That’s basically like walking in on a dude fricking your wife and then apologizing for not knocking first. Pretty obvious he didn’t give a shite at that point.

I just wonder when it happened (Richt checking out).
Was it after Murray left? Maybe the 2012 SECCG?

2013 is my guess. Remember how he was acting after the LSU game? Dude was emotionally burnt out

Like a fire razes the forest and brings about a new season of life, Jeremy Pruitt wrought chaos upon us from which was birthed the golden age of the Dawg.
We do not praise the fire, but the new life.
In the same way, let us not praise Pruitt, but rejoice in the goodness of the age he ushered in.

You have to take this with a grain of salt.
Pruitt shutting down practice by taking the ball and going in the locker room like a little bitch... like they don't have 40 other balls. Richt probably let him walk off because he obviously needed to cool down, then said "ok toss us another ball mr. equipment boy" and practice went on as usual while Pruitt pouted in the locker room.

The next in the series is about Shottenheimer, that will be the good one.

Nothing earth shattering there given all the scuttlebutt, but interesting that Legge is going on record with it now.
I did find this quote interesting:
I think Richt really was in a no win situation at that point. Of his own creation, but nonetheless, I don't see him winning with any alternative action there.
To my knowledge, he's never been a "get fired up and cuss guys out" sort of person, and in all likelihood preferred to handle Jeremy in the same way that he handled most guys... instead of singling them out publicly, doing it in private. Given that Jeremy came to the table admitting that it was on him afterwards, this is likely what happened... but the public interaction happened still.
I am glad we are where we are and I'm glad that Richt landed on his feet. Ultimately, it all worked out pretty well... And hopefully Pruitt flies off the handle a few times at his new gig as well... Wouldn't mind to see UT continue to struggle a bit, much to my wife's dismay.

Great post.
Mark Richt had literally lost control. Too much Valium.

It’s not a question of Pruitt taking the ball it’s the fact that a subordinate cussed out a head coach in front of current and former players as well as boosters and department staff. Even if he was 100% correct and Richt was totally in the wrong, you cannot behave that way. He should have been fired on the spot if Richt had a backbone or gave a frick. Instead, to have to go through an entire practice without your defensive coordinator and your entire roster is demoralized because they all realize they signed up to play football for a pussy.

The biggest thing that stood out to me was the overall leadership void that allowed something like this to happen.
Pruitt was by all accounts a loyal soldier at Bama. Is that a product of him being older and wiser or because there was a clear and unquestioned leadership hierarchy? I know which way I lean here, and this article only builds on that way of thinking.
Also, get the sense that Legge is getting a little desperate for traffic. Haha.

gotta be when bobo left. He was his right hand man that had been here since 2001, and as the article mentioned helped keep that sense of order.

I think it was NCDawg that summed it up fairly well actually:
CMR had lost his edge, was not the same coach we hired from Tallahassee, had become Coach Valium.
With that said I think many of us still respected him as a human being (I know I did). I would have personally liked to see Thomas Brown bitch slap CJP.
But damn, was I sick of CMRs ineptitude, had wanted him to move on for at least a couple of years at that point.
So, basically, Pruitt is an a-hole but without all of the drama he created where would we be now?
So thanks Jeremy, now kindly GFY.

Richt didn't even look like the same guy by the start of 2013. He looked tired and that last SEC title game had to be a deflating loss for him.
Never has the "Mark Richt has lost control" meme seemed more fitting than that 2015 season.

Pruitt respects Saban and knew that shite wouldn’t fly. He clearly had no respect or fear for Richt.

To me ... when he started Bauta it was like throwing in the Red Flag and saying, "I give up".

If part 2 is Schottenheimer, part 3 is going to be really interesting
