If it's the same why were they looking at their wrist bands every single play?

Are you saying they didn’t have wrist bands and look at them last year?

Edit, looked at first offense play of game last season vs Oregon. Stetson has a play band on his left forearm.

Also, we ran a dive and got a couple of yards.

If this is true, we may be dealing with a QB that isn’t wired to be the starting guy. He’s been there plenty long enough to not “panic”.

He has been there, but situational stuff is harder to learn in practice. I am not necessarily defending it, because it was not good. Can he learn and grow from it or does he not have the ability to process stuff like this? We do not know yet.
He has two good looking guys behind him, so this is stuff he can’t repeatedly do and keep a lock on the job.

Maybe yesterday was a fluke, but his performance was disappointing. I will wait a week before hitting the panic button.

First start for him in 4 years (injured most of his senior year of HS). He threw for 294 yards in 2.5 qtrs. I thought he settled in nicely after a bit of a disjointed start.

He seemed a little tight which is understandable. Reading between the lines you know he’s been drilled with “don’t do anything dumb” and given his history I’m sure there are some self confidence issues he’s having to work through. One of Stet’s strengths was his self confidence and ability to shrug off criticism and will himself into winning.

Hopefully the kid can use this win to build some confidence and grow from it. He needs some swagger.

The fans need to lay off. It’s disgusting to see the fans turn on a kid like we have a tendency to do with our QBs.

unable to determine after a game they were clearly going to run basic offense.

This is my biggest problem with people continuing to complain. Nobody on here knows the entire story. Even people who have played at a high level can only guess.

I remember running into a game with a play one time and got halfway to the huddle and realized I had forgotten what play was called. I improvised. The coach never said anything to me, so I guess he had forgotten what play he told me, too.

That is essentially what this is about. We have a lot of people in our fan base who make assumptions and appear to not take the time to understand the basic fundamentals of tackle football and strategy. They think because their hot takes are being questioned, that the questioner has some sort of blind allegiance to the person being questioned/judged. The echo chamber is not me or those like me. It’s those who make assumptions or down right incorrect assessments. Thats what needs to be challenged. The people who don’t like this and project typically are the ones who are guilty and don’t like being called out.

Rewind this to 3 years ago.. just wanting 1 championships let alone 2, and now a preseason pick to do it again for a possible 3 peat!
I understand why Bama fans are so disliked by their own HC!
It’s the first week of the season, I was also aggravated with how the Oline got pushed around, how Carson looked lost at times, and Bobo’s questionable play calls. Kirby will get this thing lined up like a Stetson fade..
Let’s not forget what it’s like and be grateful for what we have, we are playing with house money!

I thought Beck settled down and played well. The O-Line was extremely disappointing. Biggest improvements are generally week to week. If they come out and struggle vs Ball fricking state, then I’ll be worried. I’m pretty sure Kirby will get them back into form.

Our offense looked like total shite for much of the first 3 quarters.
It’s a small sample size but Bobos play calling looked like the play calling of old. I can’t complain about 41 points though.
