He also mixed in a good changeup. Seems like we were in between pitches all night. Wes even mentioned we are hardly ever late on a fastball during the in game interview. Sucks but happens sometimes.

Sun and shadows definitely didn't help either but both teams had to deal with that. 7pm local start should help with that against Texas

I think the wild strike zone(for both teams) and the sun got into our heads.

I'd be in favor of a robot homeplate umpire for the CWS and buy the same technology MLB is using for its reviews. Watching the game yesterday reminded me of watching the Little League World Series. The strike zone was all over the place.

It's not yesterday's home plate umpire's fault that he's not better at calling balls and strikes, because if he was he'd be a Major League Baseball umpire and not a college umpire.

The strike 3 call early on DJ was above the catchers eyes ... It wasn't just high, it was a foot high and had Jackson swinging out of the zone the rest of the day.

I have come around to the idea of bullpen games and think that they work good.

The problem with bullpen games is the more often that bullpen door swings open, the more of a chance there is that someone doesn't have their A stuff.

Idk why ABS isn't being used all postseason. It seemed to be a seamless and excellent addition to the SEC Tourney and as we saw there were MANY overturned calls. I know it costs money so isn't feasible at every single regional host park, but surely it wouldn't be too big of a deal to implement in omaha.

I am a little biased in thinking that Mercurius is a future star and that’s why we were quiet at the plate last night.

He sucked all season and was largely doing nothing but pumping 95 mph fastballs right down the middle last night, and our guys couldn't touch him. It was bizarre.

Saying he sucked all year is a little hyperbolic. True freshman in the sec who was used mostly as a reliever until recently, hell yesterday was just his fourth start. He had good movement and pitch mix yesterday, and just because a guy isn’t hitting triple digits on the radar gun doesn’t mean he’s throwing batting practice. Just one of those days where the other guy is on and we were a little off.

Anyway, any word yet on starters for tonight?

Three home runs is “couldn’t touch”?

Vegas. It's the only way left to tip the scales on way or the other.

Vigue is starting o the mound. Likely won’t have a lineup until 7-7:30. Wouldn’t be surprised if Wes keeps things as is

You think Shaggy gets another run at DH or do they see what Arcamone can give them? Shaggy been struggling at the plate too.

Depends on pitching matchups. Problem is Arcamone gives you another lefty bat so you’re not really trading much taking shaggy out in a lefty vs lefty matchup. Wynn is a righty bat so if it’s a lefty starter you’d rather him be in there but I also wouldn’t oppose moving Tre to 2B, Shaggy to 3B, and Arcamone to DH vs a righty.

They definitely came up deciding to swing the bat, that's for sure.
