Yeah Coach O has kicked our assets twice and LSU 2019 was possibly the best college team ever. Hopefully Smart makes the critics eat just as much crow soon....

South Carolina is losing a few assistants. Looks like Thomas Brown and BMac are headed to the NFL.

Strange for BMac to leave that much money (1 million) behind. Boom needs to hit some homeruns with these new hires. They start spring practice in a few weeks.

He just got demoted similar to Coley so may be a similar situation

Not really. Sinking ship with Boom's fate likely sealed already barring an insane 2020 performance. Stability > Single year paycheck for non head coaches due to the shorter length of contract and lower buyouts.

That's actually my theory as to why booms son ended up at UGA. Kirby is in a more stable situation. Bobo isn't at CSU anymore, and Muschamp knows he just recruited kids who will be there a couple of years after he and Bobo are jobless. Will wanted his son to have a college experience without coaching turmoil.

I disagree

Kid is trying to be his own man by doing exactly what his old man did (walk on at UGA)

All signs definitely point to that. They need to clear out Tanner and start over. Smart of Bobo to get a two year deal. Really don't see Bobo being much help in those offensive hires. It's nuts we hired Monken and Buster for less than they paid Bobo.

Yeah. I was shocked we didn't have to pay Monken more.

Just speculating, but it's a great springboard to landing a HC gig in college and get some recruiting ties going.

Also think the next hire will be someone tied to Monken, to go along with Buster, to help in that transition if or when it occurs.

I think this is fair... At a minimum, it's a pretty big platform if you believe in your ability as an OC. Joe Brady got massive publicity moving from unknown name with Saints to "transformative offensive position coach/coordinator" for LSU making the transition from stale to modern offense. Straight to OC in the NFL...

UGA is as high profile of a "needs transformation on offense" a job as you can get but has the talent to make it a relatively attainable task in 1-2 seasons. Easily jumps him to HC candidate at the college level, and pretty sure his issue in the NFL was that people always referred to him as "the college guy" - at least heard that in a podcast or read it in an article somewhere.

And there went the pin. Congrats Dawgs. Let’s bid this 2020 thread farewell with a hearty HBTFD for our #1 recruiting class

Posted this on recruiting board. Guess I knew it but still. If you aren’t recruiting at the very top, you are not going to make the playoffs. Kirby is keeping us in the mix. We need a few breaks and some offense.

20 of the 24 past playoff spots taken by teams currently top 10% in recruiting.

Every national championship winner in playoff era sits in the current top 5%.

Only one team outside the current top 5% has made it to the the finals.

If we lose DL to SC going forward there is literally no excuse.

Really telling that Georgia paid Rocker to just stay home

He won't be missed at UTk, but Sherrer will be.

The division is already falling way behind Georgia in recruiting and losing Brown, BMac, Sherrer, etc. won't help.

Sherrer bummed me out when we lost him. I also think think that not including the retention of anyone from Richt’s staff that Rocker is the only guy Kirby has outright fired
