Certainly won't be the norm, because the normal recruit isn't elite enough to hold out on.

I get that...but if the elite recruits do it then the lesser recruits will do it, too. And at what point does a kid say, "I am elite and can do it", or "I can't get away with this"?

It's highly unlikely schools would give up on a blue chip they have a chance with, except possibly a QB.
Again, while I agree, then some schools that are holding out hope will be left with nothing. I mean, we held a spot for Roquan. What if Roquan went somewhere else? If that happens two or three times the schools will get tired of being left at the altar.

Hey...I don't mean to argue. just giving alternate opinions to work our way through this. It is an intriguing thing...and I am sure if it ever got to that point some type of formal process would be implemented.

Could have been a lot better which I’m hoping to bring to the 21 thread.

Just got a good chuckle from the past month of threads on the UF board.

"Georgia is depleted!" "It's our time!"

I don't think rival fans truly understand that Georgia loses players every year - whether it's to graduation, NFL, transfer/dismissal, etc.

This is the number of departed scholarship players prior to each season under Smart...

2020: 21*
2019: 25
2018: 26
2017: 25
2016: 26

*we may see a few more this offseason

I'm disappointed we won't get close to 10k like 2017

We are gonna have a nasty, nasty defense next year. Offense can’t possibly be worse. We finished #4. Thinks we’ll be just fine next year

UGA is going under the radar right now, and I'm liking it . I'm very pleasantly surprised.

A single Darnell Washington thread on Volnation recruiting forum had about 17,000 posts if I recall correctly. And then when he chose UGA, they said he wasn't very good.

Jordan Burch officially signs with South Carolina after a brief consideration of just being homeschooled throughout college.

I think I’d rather have him there than LSU. Unless they keep beating us

Shhh I've got information from his child's friend in daycare that he is just tricking Kirby, and will end up at Tennessee later this Spring. Pruitt sent him to gather info on our new offense.

Pruitt smart like that.

I go to the Auburn recruiting board some. they do a pretty good job with their board, and we recruit some of the same players. However, they routinely go off topic for a lot of pages at a time and that bumps up their post count a lot. That is not necessarily a criticism of them..I think they use their recruiting thread as an "in general" topic place a lot, so that is why they go off topic a lot.

We go off topic from time to time, but are pretty good about steering ourselves back on topic.

With Americus back on the board and posting more regularly (Bringing the good intel he brings) I think you will see out count go way up.

For anyone who doesn't read GTP, solid infographic showing recruiting success over the last several seasons:

Once 2015 drops off, UGA should be right up against where Alabama is on average over the last several seasons.

Worth noting outliers:

LSU: On the heels of the natty, outperforming their average. Definitely have been on the rise over the past couple of seasons.

Clemson, general rise over the last couple of seasons, even though they have taken slightly smaller classes in general.

USC: good lord they've fallen off a cliff. 4th on the average, but woof at 2020 class. If Helton is still employed for the 2021 class, the recovery may take a lot longer than anyone there is prepared to deal with.
