While the need for 5 Star RB’s is a need and what we are accustomed too around these parts... let’s be honest... Brendan Douglas could rush for 1200 yards behind that O-Line. But again... I see the concerns although I really don’t.

Looks like LSU is a major player as well. We well have a pretty depth chart for him, if we can get him on campus a few times then we might be able to win that one

LSU recruits that school well, read they have an alum on the football staff. They are a player for sure.

If he's not simply creating drama with no TX schools we've got to look good. Depth chart, O-Line, everything. I think I could make 2nd team All SEC behind our line...think what Evans could do!

We win this season and the recruits will pour in. Literally that’s the only thing holding us back from greatness.

If anyone wants to sound in the know, the yellow snake is Coach Gantt’s. Her name is Sunshine.

There's a difference between racking up yards between the 20s.
And being a team that can run 3rd and short. And especially run in goal line.

We did a lot of great things offensively in 2018. Goal line rushing was not one of them.

And thats the difference between winning and losing against top 10 opponents (running on those key downs and keeping the opponent out of the end zone when they run).

That not the reason we lost to any top 10 opponents last year.

In fact, we beat true top 10 opponents despite our inefficiencies here.

You seem so confident. That's what is funny.

LSU ran for 3 red zone scores (2 by Burrow).
LSU ran successfully on 4th and short twice (both by burrow. Both led to TDs).

UGA ran for 1 red zone score (1st and goal from the 10).
Failed on our only 4th down run attempt.
Converted a qb sneak on 3rd and 1.

I'd say that our inability to stop the short run game (particularly Burrow) was a critical reason for the loss.

Bama ran for 3 rushing touchdowns from the red zone including Jalens game winner.
UGA had 1 rushing TD from the red zone from Swift (2nd and 3).

UGA did stuff Bama -3 on a 3rd and 3. However, Bama did convert a 3rd and 1 on another drive which led to a TD.

UGA converted a 3rd and 1 with swift late in the first half deep in our territory. That led to Swifts only rushing TD later in the drive.

Bama's 3 rushing TDs including the game winner confirms that stopping the run is pretty important to Ws against top teams.

Well LSU wasn’t a top 10 team when we played them. Florida and Kentucky were.

I agree with your overall point, that we need to get better in those areas. But I wouldn’t say that’s why we lost any games last season. We ran all over LSU when we ran the ball. We just never actually ran the ball.

Texas (ehlinger) ran for 3 TDs from the red zone. One was a 3rd down conversion. Another a 4th down conversion.
Texas converted 3 other third and shorts with runs. These led to a TD, FG, and punt.

UGA ran for 0 rushing TDs in the red zone. We had a failed 4th down attempt (fake punt where fields wanted to run for some reason). We did convert 2 third downs on the ground. But they didn't lead to any points.

I'd say that texas' success on the ground in the red zone versus the Dawgs had a big impact on the final score.

Texas also wasn’t a top 10 team when we played them.

I was nit picky, sorry for doing so. And we actually had better success against Texas’ short run game than anyone else I saw all year against them.

But agree we need to be better there.

I'm not sure that is accurate.
In the first half, we had 15 rush attempts for 77 yards (5.13 ypa). Good, but not dominant in any fashion. A few long runs in our 2nd drive (out of 6 drives in the first half) push the average to that point.
The main point is 15 rushed for 77 yards and zero points.

The third quarter had an increase in run attempts (8 for 49 yards and a TD for the quarter).

But then we were in the 4th quarter.
We fumble a kickoff return and we find ourselves with over 7 minutes left in the game down by 2 TDs. Can you blame us for throwing? We are trying to beat the clock more than anything.
