Was that on CTG to be talking to him?

Yep. And he has 4 INTs this season. Decommited because the UGA coaches weren't talking to him.
Man we pull in some good ones just like everyone else but we have some major frick ups. Kennar Johnson pretty much took his place right?

Get your pitchfork:

How did things sour between UGA and Nelson? Apparently, UGA had very little to do with Nelson after he committed, according to his coach. “He didn’t communicate very much with the DC at Georgia (defensive coordinator Todd Grantham),” Zepeda said. “The only coach that he was communicating with was (UGA defensive backs coach Scott Lakatos). The relationship between the DC coach and Steven wasn’t there. “When Steven went on an unofficial to Georgia last summer, he just briefly spoke with the staff. He didn’t really get to sit down with them like he wanted to, other than Coach Lakatos. “You know it was the ‘relationship factor’ between Steven and Georgia.

Yep, and Johnson is going to be a JUCO redshirt.

ALIntel guy Drew DeArmond (really good and usually is spot-on, knows his shite) said yesterday that UGA now leads for 5* DL Gerald Willis III
LSU who was thought to be his longtime leader has somehow made momma (April Justin of Landon Collins announcement fame) mad, no idea how
Just thought I'd let you guys know, it would be a very interesting turn of events, he is a beast for sure

Thanks for sharing. That would be amazing to pull this guy in but I'll hold my breathe in case LSU does right by mama.

Wow. I hadn't heard of any connection between him and UGA, but would be sweet

He had 8 sacks in his game on Friday
From everything I have heard about his recruitment it isn't like the LC situation (where he didn't live with April and basically didn't involve her too much) he very strongly respects his Mom's opinion and UGA has been up there in his couple favs but it was thought that all teams were trailing behind LSU

So I take everyone is backing off Shaw for now because of his injury. He should have committed early now it may be hard for any D1 school to take a chance on him.

Shaw doesn't have grades either

Georgia’s on-campus recruiting director gets 5-day suspension for NCAA violations involving mailings
quote:Jesus fricking Christ McGarity...
In a letter to SEC commissioner Mike Slive dated Sept. 30, athletic director Greg McGarity said Georgia discovered that non-coaching staff members mailed general correspondence at about 4:30 p.m. on Friday Aug. 30, two days before the Sept. 1 date when juniors are permitted to receive mailings, according to information obtained by the Athens Banner-Herald in an open records request.
Daryl Jones, a former high school coach and athletic director, was hired to the on-campus recruiting position in May of 2012. McGarity would not say if the suspension is without pay and only would say that the suspension had not been served before Saturday’s game against Missouri.
At least 12 recruits received mail on Aug. 31 during the Labor Day holiday weekend before the permitted date.
“It was their assumption that the mail was dropped off at the post office late enough on Friday afternoon that it could not be delivered to the intended recipient prior to September 1,” McGarity wrote in the letter. “However, some of the prospective student-athletes did receive these mailing(s) on the very next day…”

No doubt. Stuff like this occurs once a day and twice on Sundays at other neighboring institutions.
"allegedly"

In other words, Daryl gets the week off during our Bye; Kirby Smart can blow this "violation" out his arse.
ETA: Although, I will say that this "let's be as transparent with our transgressions as humanly possible" schtick is absolutely deplorable and infuriating, given what it has cost us with the NCAA relative to other institutions (AJ Green, for example)

Another recruiting UGA website said it was a mutual parting of ways. We didn't want him. I'll trust the coaches on this one.
