I think he's referring to Steven Nelson decommitting.
And I am increasingly finding this:
Harder and harder to do, given the abysmal defensive performance seven weeks into the season.

Agreed. I'd be ecstatic if they jettisoned everyone on the Defensive side of the ball, save Chris Wilson. Either Lakatos' kids are dumb as dirt, or he's chasing his tail trying to teach them how to button Grantham's Emperor's New Clothes.

Which post are you responding to Buck2Lindsay?
The Nelson decommitment. It happens all the time. Sometimes coaches give the green light to commit prematurely.
Think about it, do you really think our coaches would let a valued commit fall by the wayside? It was on purpose.

Given the unusually massive class size and Nelson's location on the West Coast, yes I do. If we were parting ways, he wouldn't still talk with Lakatos (and if he did, Lakatos would tell him thanks but no thanks).
Either way, letting him go was a stupid move given what we have (or, rather, don't have) in the defensive backfield.

Well you are wrong then top, you really expect Lakatos to tell him "hey you know the scholly we offered you, and how you committed? Well that's not going to happen" Yea right, many teams do it this way. So no, we don't want him.
Posted on 10/15/13 at 1:13 pm to Buck2Lindsay
Well that was clearly a mistake

While I respect your opinion, I think I'll trust the professionals with this.

You don't know much about how recruiting works, do you?

I don't think you do. I cant tell you how many articles I've read that reinforce my post.
Believe what you want, though......

No lie. Dude rises from the mists with the moral imperative to chime in on every thread in a hundred mile radius, and create three for every one that he didn't...

Are Parrish, Fenteng, and Gant going to be good enough to actually improve our secondary in 2014? Specifically at corner. I think our current crop of guys just aren't very good players. With or without Grantham, I think this secondary stinks. I'm still sold on JHC and TM, but these corners are just God Awful.

Guys gotta improve. That's just how it works. You can't expect for freshmen to keep coming in and make a difference. Fingers crossed that Fenteng is SEC ready day 1 though.

I won't go back and forth with you on this and junk up this thread by repeating what I've said three times in the last 3 pages on the main forum, that these kids aren't just "learning" a "system", they flat out can't keep up with the receivers and have shown zero intincts on which to improve upon. TM and JHC excluded. The corners are not getting better week to week. They seem to actually be getting worse. If we played Clemson again they'd probably score 60, and I'm not exaggerating.
ETA- I'm very angry.

Wiggins is getting better, but I don't think he'll ever be that shut down guy for us. Parrish is a stud. He could be that guy.
I also think Gant could help us next year if he makes grades. We'll sign another db as well
ETA- I don't by any means think we should give up on Langley either. He's got some bad habits but the tools are there

UF has always been the favorite. We'll see after OVs

Rusty Mansell and Luke Stampini have hinted that Sharpe may not be a take for UGA and that work ethic is a concern. We'll see
ETA- apparently his biggest concerns are being able to play early and being able to keep playing basketball. These two desires don't work together. If he wants to play early, he, like anyone else, is going to have to bust his arse to beat people out. It's not like he's a very developed OL. He's an upside guy who's upside won't ever come to fruition if football isn't that important to him.
