Why would anyone go to Bamer and risk two years of waiting, and then getting kicked to the curb by a heartless, self-absorbed hitler head coach like little nicky?

PT Barnum said it first, "There's a fool born every minute."

We can only take 2 OLBs in 14. Plenty of room for Brown and Carter. We can get by with only 1 if we have to.

Miller looked like the real deal, but we'll just have to move on.

Maybe Evans is serious about leaving Auburn.

Miller said no to Athens.

His loss.

I do hope he gets to play and isn't transferred to North Dakota by the little nicky.

So we can piledrive block him to the ground in the SEC championship game all night.

I'm as big a Georgia fan as anyone on this board, but Nick Saban has an excellent track record of getting the absolute most out of every player on his team. So if it weren't for my uga ties and if I were a big time football recruit and Bama wanted me then I would give them serious consideration.

Absolutely. Add to that the chance to play for a National Championship every year. It doesn't take a genius to realize that Alabama will get the highest rated athletes available, therefore SHOULD play for the Natty MOST years. However, rating high school kids is NOT an exact science. Power is cyclical. You have to hope that some of Alabama recruits will not pan out. Some will get kicked off the team due to not working or getting in trouble. Some can't handle the classroom requirements, etc. But, Saban runs a tight program. He is not sentimental, but coldly evaluates talent and then the talent he brings in are terrified to get into trouble or not work. Until Saban is gone it will be tough. Not impossible....but very tough.

Personally, I think Carter will go elsewhere, and probably McMillan, too...but those are more guesses than anything. I DO think we pull Malone, Shaw and Brown, though.

Just in the interest of playing Devil's Advocate, I'd offer that I highly doubt that Saban will be at Bama by the time any of the 2014 kids graduate/ enter the draft. The power vacuum once he leaves Tuscaloosa is going to be epic. LSU hiring Les Miles in the wake of Saban leaving was the exception, not the rule. More often than not, you have situations like Tennesee where for whatever reason, there's a revolving door on the HC's office.

Personally, I'd love to see Texas underachieve again this year and have them kick Mack Brown to the curb. It would be a thing of beauty for the Saban to Austin for 10 years/$100M rumors of the past few years to have teeth. He wants to go where there's a challenge. Making Big XII football relevant is the biggest challenge left on the board.

You could very well be right, Vox. However, if Saban leaves that soon, I would be willing to bet Alabama will promote from within, and Kirby Smart will promote up. Smart has learned from Saban and will be a very good coach. Alabama would probably have a slight drop off, but I would think it would be only slight. Who knows? It's all conjecture, and only time will tell.

Why do you think Saban would leave? I can't imagine why he would.

I think it goes back to the challenge of building something from relative shambles. Isn't that where Bama was when Saban moved in? Texas should always be a contender, just like UGA should always be in the discussion if for no other reason than pocketbook depth and richness of recruiting base. Texas is arguably one if the top 5 coaching gigs in terms of prestige and tradition. That's right up CNS' alley, in my book.

If they offered, I think he bites. Not for the money, but rather for the sake of doing it.

Does anyone have a link to the picture of Ben Cleveland with his team walking out to the field? I'm trying to show my inlaws how big that joker is at 14.

He gets so much out of his players they are often mostly used up by the time it is time to get paid in the NFL and that is what I would be telling you as a recruit if I was any other coach in the SEC. Some of the Bama players are having to have surgery before they even play a down. If you start talking about losing paydays these kids will listen.

Dafuq are you talking about. They have like 7 or 8 RBs on scholarship. PT is always an issue at Bama. To the point iwonder every year how the sign some of these kids knowing theyll get buried in rotation. Alot of them 4 and 5 star athletes

It would seem that CNS recruits on a basis where the recruit is valued to him on the economic basis of a "positional good." any given recruit has value to him sometimes only because another school wants the kid.

Re Bama and the "player development" myth. Saban's got the best program for winning college football games. Much is made of Bama's over signing and the "extra recruiting class", which would be significant enough by itself. But the Bama program goes far beyond that. Not only do they get the extra players but they cull the dead wood every year. So not only did they hit the dome with approx 20 extra scholarship players last yesr, every one of those players proved they belong at Bama. They don't have 4 year Mudcats & Kevin Perez on their roster. . They actually had about 35-40 more SEC champ caliber players than us and it showed. Bama is no better than UGA at player development. It's a numbers game & the numbers dictate that Bama has a good chance of looking as if every kid on the roster is a player thus being coached up. Truth is they have about 50% more players to evaluate to find their Boykin, JJ & TG's. Bama has mastered college footballs numbers game, not player development. My $.02.

I could very well be wrong with this, but considering the news that Bacarri Rambo has likely earned a starting position made me think about all the 3 stars from UGA that end up doing pretty good things in the NFL. I know that plenty of 5 stars from Bama do OK in teh NFL, but I can inly think of very few who were not elite that ever did much in the NFL from Bama. So, who is better at player development?
