That game was a lot closer than the score indicated

Our boys stood toe to toe with bama and had the advantage physically and mentally, however slight.

The bama Offense was beat, and Jalen Hurts was frustrated. Then we bailed them out on that roughing the passer, and our d was too gassed the stop the run after that long drive.

I firmly believe on a neutral field with neutral referees we win that game.

I think the better team won, but I agree the score doesn't represent the game. Played really poorly in the end.

I'm prepared to get down voted for this, but we were outmatched. We held them to FG's on two drives. They missed FG's. We got some momentum going into the half and made it a game, but that could've been a blowout.

Our boys gave everything they had and never gave up. For that I am proud.

neutral referees

We somehow have to hammer the SEC and NCAA. This is pathetic and almost unwatchable. Myles will have gone his entire career with a handful of holding calls. None being in big games or crucial moments. Check this clip. Look how dissapointed this official is when Bama gets the flag thrown on them. He tried his best to save them. LINK

Same official who had the responsibility to call this the entire game but of course he failed to do so

Don't think we'd win on a neutral field, but agree that the game was closer than it appeared. We tripped ourselves up too much at the end: washington's roughing the passer call, Reynolds drop (not totally his fault, was a hard catch but he always has great hands), fumbled handoff returned for a TD, etc.

Can't make mistakes like that and expect to win. Saban is good, really good.

The better team definitely won. There's not a team in the SEC, or most likely nation, that is as talented and well coached as Bama. That being said, they are beatable. We definitely could have won that game had the cards fallen a little differently.

I saw that substitution penalty and was going ape shite at the TV over the ref stopping play and directing a Bama player to get off the field bc they had 12

Well this is weird, because I thanked all of our lucky stars (yes, all of them) that A&M was down 6 at halftime. I'm not sure what game you watched, but Bama was clearly better.

We played about as well as could be expected, but I think this was actually a game where the score accurately reflected the gap between the two teams.

We needed Bama to have an off game to have a shot. They had a couple of shaky moments (the fumble we forced on their end of the field that they recovered/the INT we had and they picked us off again the very next play), but overall they looked every bit the part of a #1 team.

I think the game wasnt as close as it appeared. We took advantage of the breaks we got and then regressed back to reality. That could have just as easily been a 30+ pt loss as a win. Blowout actually was more likely.

:kige:

We hung on just enough in the 1st half to steal a win if things broke right for us. I was very happy to only be 6 down and getting the ball

Bama is just better than we are. They didn't make the errors we needed them to make and we made normal errors when we needed to play mistake free. At 14-13 if we don't get the late hit and then catch a break - maybe a muffed snap or a big punt return - maybe that changes things. But we'd need everything going our way to beat them.

Exactly. I think that's also just who we are this year. We're inconsistent on O and D and have thrived on big plays in game changing moments. It says a lot about the mentality of our guys.

If Shaan was a step earlier or a step later then the whole dynamic changes. We could have gotten a small lead and shortened the game enough to have a chance, maybe Bama even plays tight if that happens.

Alabama is clearly the better team. I don't think there is anyone in the country that is in their realm.
Clemson has had some stinkers
Michigan may be there but not yet
OSU just lost
Nobody in the Pac12 is there.

Look, this game was in the balance until the roughing the passer call. We were getting off the field and the field was about to be flipped in our favor. Being impartial, I don't think we win this game even without the drive extension for Bama but we were battling.

We got out with minimal injuries and it's time to move on.

Most of those "big plays" bama gets for td doesn't happen if holding is called on Garrett and hall as it should have been. There is no way in hell with an impartial crew jalen hurts has time to think, let alone run around like he did a few times.

The guy who should have been kicked out of the game for targeting had a huge impact. That should have been 15 yards and bama down an impact player.

The whole thing was fricked up from the beginning. I know the LSU fans bitch and we give em hell, but often they have a good point.

That whole sequence where their targeting didn't even get reviewed and then Donovan got dinged for it (correct call btw), just baffled me.

We made too many mistakes that Bama just doesn't.

Whiffed on the stop on 3rd down, then took late hit on the next 3rd down. After that, air just went out of the balloon.

Then, Knight looked like he was panicking. Bad ball handling, taking huge sacks instead of getting rid of the ball.

Just need more work on the fine points. This is why Bama is so flipping good.

Not at all... if Kiffin had his head screwed on right they would've had a 2 TD lead before we ever thought of scoring.

A friend of mine from Pennsylvania who is a Penn State grad (and married to a Sip actually) was texting me, completely unsolicited (I hadn't texted him in days), absolutely IRATE about the officiating in our game. It's not just us, or LSU fans. A totally neutral observer was flipping out about it and being specific: the PI call on Priest, repeated holding on our DEs, a missed field goal that was called made, the big no-call on targeting, the big yes call on targeting against A&M, a huge, obvious block in the back on a big return, the blatant attempt to save Alabama from having 12 men on the field. I was less angry than he was was, because I expected it. He was expecting the refs to get fired and I had to explain that pro-Bama officiating is just part of the deal when you are in the SEC.
