thats why the composite works. each service has what the frick rankings. none are perfect. i would say 247 has the most resources and should be considered the better of the three. but they have their issues as well and people should look at the composite above all else as its the best compromise

247 is in general horrific just as a website and business but I will give them credit for doing the composite rankings. And because they did it first it’s now the gold standard even though anyone could have done it.

Christian Williams is going to visit. Bama is apparently telling him to look around so hopefully we can get in on this one

Is he really a corner or more a hybrid safety? I guess he is probably a take regardless, but I want CB's.

His last visit before signing day is Oregon. Anybody know if he made it to Miami?

Any insider know where he ranks us?

All I know is Brian Williams’ drop in ranking is going to look real stupid in a couple years.

247 message boards aren’t very good, poor format, awkwardly moderated and most team boards have everything in one place as opposed to having non-sports boards.

Their recruiting coverage and multiple ranking systems are second to none, though.

You want to talk about bad rankings, ESPN is consistently the worst. They factor in “potential” more than the other services.

The layout of the site blows and they haven’t overhauled any of it in like 6 years. It’s extremely outdated and the rankings pages are terrible to navigate and constantly loop the filters back to a reset. It’s plain terrible.

Couple the above with how hard they push ads and slideshows and it’s obvious it’s very cheaply run. Maybe that’s because margins are thin or maybe it’s because they don’t have much real competition I don’t know. I do know if Hamm was still covering recruiting for us instead of Perroni I would never in a million years pay for that shite. The A&M recruiting coverage is excellent I agree, the UI/UX and their general penny pinching sucks arse

None of what I’m talking about has to do with their rankings. I don’t see anyone as really standing out in that department and 247 does composite so I guess they get a leg up.

They probably are the best on their own, but when you factor in the network of writers they have they really do a piss poor job I think. ESPN and Rivals just don’t invest anything in having a staff to do such things. That’s not the case for 247. If your actual website is going to be a high school computer science project at least make the rankings excellent and quality of content high. Notice they get absolutely zero traffic to parts of their site unrelated to football recruiting.

I like having varied opinions. That is what makes the composites work. However i wish those varied opinions were done a little better.

I think it's too much of a crap shoot projecting talent to get a whole lot better. It seems like NFL teams can barely get the draft right half the time, and that is probably an easier projection than a nation's worth of 16 & 17 year olds

I thought he was an early enrollee. I would think that would complicate matters.

Unless they can prove serious wrongdoing (Wright is dead so they can't use the infractions committee anymore) wouldn't it be considered tampering or illegal contact?

USC won't release him. And the sips are tampering with a signed recruit, but that will be overlooked by the NCAA. And 247 is a freaking joke with the upgrade of essentially the entire sip class to bump them into the Top 5. The bias is so incredibly blatant ...
