So how are the teams different this year? I took quick look at the TAMU 2018 roster and as best I can tell four juniors and four seniors are now on NFL rosters. I didn't look at LSU but they always lose a fair number of juniors. So obviously LSU is much better this year and I think it can be said that TAMU is off somewhat from performance last year. You'd think having seen Burrow last year and Mond performing well last year against LSU that could happen again. But if LSU dominates this year, why would they be better (sophomores and juniors got much better?)? I agree this is speculation at this point but is there a reason to be optimistic about a competitive game?

Edit 5 seniors and four juniors = 9

LSU has recruited a level above A&M the past 4 years, and they have a great new OC who has done wonders with Burrow. That, plus playing in Baton Rouge, is why they're better and will be 2 score favorites.

We are going to get our little Aggy clocks cleaned. They're pissed about losing last year, plus the whole title run thing they have going on. It won't be pretty at all.

We’ll play them closer than people think, but we’ll likely lose.

I pretty certain our defense can prevent that

Damn guys, why even bother playing the game? Hope our players don’t have the same attitudes y’all do.

I appreciate the feedback. So I was most curious about given the results from last year and with many of the same players, whether or not posters on the Board thought that these teams could still be evenly matched. It appears to me the thinking is LSU got a lot better while TAMU has not (they have the same QBs). And also the net results in recruiting for the past four years may have been better at LSU. But what perplexes me is some on this Board think the players on the field progressed further for LSU this year and perhaps the coaching at LSU is better overall. I have little doubt that the Aggies will face an onslaught at Tiger stadium this year. Knowing this there will have to be some fortitude and the coaches are likely working to instill that. I just can't see that LSU is vastly superior than last year but they are on a roll. Yeah and frick LSU.

For the record, LSU lost three juniors to the NFL last year. Two linebackers and one running back. They also had a large junior class last year. This year they have 11 seniors.

Game will be closer than many think. LSU has a good offense, but their defense is honestly no better than average

Problem is we don’t have a lot of the same players, we lost 7 players to the draft, plus another 4-5 that got free agent and practice squad chances.

6 out of 7 on the defensive front, we lost 2 OL starters, plus two TE with one of them being a really good inline blocker, and a FB that also got drafted.

And we haven’t recruited well enough to reload yet, instead we are rebuilding this year.

it should be a good first half

Y’all will score some points (probably 24+) but i cant really see anyone other than maybe uga slowing down this offense. (Mind you our ex-shitty offense dropped 36 on them last year)

We should be able to throw the ball reasonably well and put up 20-24 points. I think we’ll lose something like 38-21 or so.

Jimbo tries to shorten the game so much against superior competition that it’s hard for even great offenses to score in the 40s without a bunch of turnovers.

Fun fact: Only 4 teams have scored more than 28 on Mike Elko's A&M defenses in regulation. Of those, only 2018 and 2019 Alabama won.
