dustin mccomas on orangebloods is the most level headed horn reporter ive seen. IIRC, he has family ties to FSU. even he has started to sound petty about this ordeal though since initially saying there was no way jimbo leaves for A&M.

Pelini went out of his way to get a kid he knew was a convicted rapist on to his Youngstown team. Hard pass.

Gundy could be waiting on Fisher to stay or go, if he leave Tally that FSU job will be very attractive, if he stays he'll have some serious bargaining power with Woodard. Either of those two jobs are far and away better than the dumpster fire burning in Knoxville right now. That or the beef with Pickens is overblown and he's going to be a lifer at OSU unless then NFL comes calling at some point.

Wednesday, Nov. 28 @ 10:00 a.m. Good morning. Time for some coffee and nuggets. Since last night, it's definitely shifted towards Fisher leaving for Texas A&M again. Heard from a couple sources that weren't sure before but are now convinced that Fisher will coach his last game Saturday. And independent source to Fisher confirmed the reason for the delay is because he's forced to wait for the contract situation in Texas to play out. More importantly, I was told that some of the family hangups that may have been an issue, have now been resolved (sounds like A&M is making some accommodations to help with this). Also, signs inside the coaching offices point towards Fisher departing. Been told that recruiting meetings are virtually nonexistent and very little is being done on that front. With a prevailing feeling that Fisher will be moving on, I suspect the administration will be moving forward with a coaching search. Even if Fisher reverses course and this works itself out, it certainly can't hurt to be prepared. Along those lines, look for us to release a coaching Hot Board in a day or two. Stay tuned.... Final Note: Been hearing there's a decent chance five-star QB Justin Fields would visit FSU should Willie Taggart get the job.

ughhhh, i don't like how i've been sucked into this coach hunt.

at first i didn't care one way or the other because i don't really know much about fisher, but now i'm all in on him because of what it says about the power of our athletic department being able to get their guy....whether or not he's the right man for the job.

Wednesday, Nov. 29 @ 5:15 p.m.

With mounting evidence that Jimbo Fisher will likely accept the Texas A&M job, there is a lot of discussion at Florida State about him not coaching the regular season finale this Saturday. As we've addressed, having Fisher on the sideline Saturday could make for an uncomfortable situation for players and fans if it's known that he's leaving. I was told there's a good chance a decision on his status could come down on this tomorrow.

You probably saw it, but just in case, we got information that Oregon's Willie Taggart and Virginia Tech's Justin Fuente are far and way the top to candidates being looked at should Fisher follow through and accept the A&M offer. Based on things I've heard in the last couple hours, things seem be trending towards Taggart and the discussion with all the interested parties are moving along quickly. I believe this is in large part due to the pressure Oregon is putting on him to sign a new $20 million/5-year deal. Don't surprised if this is wrapped up as early as Monday or Tuesday next week.

Yep. Breathe easy ags we may have actually done a coaching search correctly for the first time since Fran (ignoring his results, we had a real search and made moves for the perceived best coach we could get and did so quietly)

At this point, it is becoming difficult to see how Jimbo could stay at FSU if he even wanted to. Just kind of wonder how things got to this point between him and their administration.

They and Jimbo might as well part ways tomorrow. Things could get ugly on Saturday if they just let this situation drag on.

FWIW, just got the following text. This from the guy called the Chavis hire even before the rumors were on Texags in 2014:

quote:

Expect FSU to tell Fisher to GTFO before the weekend, that relationship is nothing short of toxic now. At this point most on both sides would be very surprised if he coaches this weekend. Announcement could be tomorrow after BOR meeting, but regardless there isn't a soul in the know who thinks he's staying at this point.

I feel like it would be a clown show if he coaches Saturday and he probably sees that at this point too. Booed like crazy, students running on the field with signs and shite and the players probably wouldn’t care. I would think we extend the offer tomorrow afternoon and he’s officially gone Friday morning at the latest
