I'll just say that my career trajectory would have been drastically different (in a good way) had I never set foot on Ft. Bragg and worn the "Dick Dragon" patch.

"Dick Dragon"
You are really good people brother. You are just destined for other things.

My former boss (who ended his career as the PMS for Marshall University) coined it.
If you look at the patch a certain way, "something" is entering the dragon's mouth.

Trust me, I knew exactly what you meant the second I read it. Just never heard the phrase. Served in 44th MEDCOM from 2000 -2003 when it was right across the street from XVIII ABC HQ. Deployed with the CJTF 180 staff in 2003 just before I got off of active duty and went AGR. Came back to FBNC in 2007 to 2009 with USACAPOC(A). Still own a home in Fayetteville. Wonder if we did not cross paths somewhere along the way.
I like our little troll free zone over here. Nice and peaceful. I know it drives my fellow LSU fans crazy because they cannot post in this thread

But I have a feeling that what happened last night on tSECRant (Scoreboard) is a microcosm of how the Aggies felt after finally having beaten LSU. Why it is important to remember 74-72 and a second place finish in the SEC West. But never forget, everything in the SEC is defined by Alabama. They are the key to all of this. How all of us interact with them.

This season still feels very much like lightening in a bottle for LSU. We all know what Orgeron is by himself (a great recruiter who doesn’t offer much on game day) and the catalysts for this year (Burrow, Brady and to a lesser degree Aranda) are all definitely/likely gone within the next 18 months and potentially as early as this offseason.
Bama has sustained success in spite of numerous turnovers due to their head coach. I don’t think anyone believes O is capable of sustaining this apart from falling into a great set of circumstances. And remember, nobody revenge hate fricks opponents quote like Nick Saban. His sole mission in life for the next 12 months is beating LSU next season and that’s not a fun spotlight to be in.

And I still don’t believe an 11-1 Bama gets left out of the CFP unless Georgia beats LSU in Atlanta, in which case Georgia and LSU both probably get in. 11-1 OU isn’t getting in over them after the KSU/ ISU games, Minnesota and Baylor will lose at some point and Oregon has a tendency to shite the bed in November against random teams.
If I’m Bama, I rest Tua until the Iron Bowl and then hope for a rematch as a 4 seed in the playoff.
1: LSU
2: OSU
3: Clemson
4: Bama
I still think that’s most likely

His complete failure at Ole Miss and his dramatic underachievement at LSU prior to this year.
What’s more likely, he had a coaching epiphany or he fell into a great combination of talent, QB play and assistants?

I've been on the Ark since the beginning and I'm just here to say I still love y'all.

This particular committee will do whatever gymnastics they have to in order to ensure Alabama is not in unless they have no other choice.
Let's look at revisionist history in 2017:
Had Wisconsin beaten Ohio State and everything else stayed the same, the four would have been:
Clemson, Georgia, Oklahoma, Wisconsin
Had Auburn beaten Georgia and everything else stayed the same, the four would have been:
Clemson, Oklahoma, Ohio State, Auburn
The committee weighs the following:
1. Record
2. Conference Champions
That's why Ohio State got in over Penn State in 2016 and why Alabama got in over Ohio State in 2017.

I agree with you and I don’t think continuing to rely on elite assistants is a sustainable model
They are going to land a disgusting array of talent over the next few years on the back of this season though

Envy? Half this committee are from West Coast schools including the chair who is the Oregon AD. I look forward to seeing a CFP without Alabama and the ensuing melt.

Come on brother. This thread is not about the CFP at all. The whole thread was about how LSU fans hate A&M and why. I was willing to come in here and give you some insights and perspective.
Yes, Orgeron is a moron. He knows nothing. Lucked into a winning season. Yaw yaw.
Frick it. I am out. Enjoy your little world over here.

I would think it absurd to assume that Orgeron hasn’t grown and developed as a coach himself

He was the HC for 8 games in a terrible conference.
