No on Sumlin.

I like Snyder, but damn. I'll maybe catch crap over this but I'd love to see us bring Phil Bennett home. I think he'd bring some passion back to the D. Personal bias admitted.

Absolutely not. Snyder has given up over 50 points in a game twice. Phil Bennett almost 10 times.

I've always assumed that the quality of the recruits plus the offenses faced had more to do with this than coaching.

Let's examine. Phil Bennett has been the Baylor defensive coordinator since 2011.

Gave up 55 points to A&M (2011)
Gave up 59 points to Oklahoma State (2011)
Gave up 56 points to Washington (2011) - in a win
Gave up 70 points to West Virginia (2012)
Gave up 56 points to Texas (2012)
Gave up 52 points to UCF (2013)
Gave up 58 points to TCU (2014) - in a win

Hard to argue with those numbers, Count.

A change needs to be made, but I don't think PB is the answer right now.

No, it isn't.

Total Defense (ypg) 2014
Baylor 10th
Texas A&M 71st

Points/game
Baylor 24th
Texas A&M 47th

I looked around here for a while, but Baylor's defense against wide-open offenses does better in every meaningful category than A&M's. BRING PHIL HOME

Scoring offenses Baylor faced this season:

SMU (6.5 ppg) - Shut them out
Northwestern State (27 ppg) - allowed 6
Buffalo (34 ppg) - allowed 21
Iowa State (24.5 ppg) - allowed 28
TCU (45.2 ppg) - allowed 58
West Virginia (36.8 ppg) - allowed 41

I assume you're joking or drunk. If PB is the answer then you're asking the wrong question.

I'll dig into stats more when I stop hating football. For tonight I'm Mr. Hyde (to Mrs. Hyde).

Off the top of my head, Phil may not be the answer, but I think it is clear by now that Snyder isn't. Unless we can get Boom (and we won't), I can't see a better option. And to me he's clearly better than Snyder and will almost certainly bring more passion to A&M football.

Drunk, certainly. Are you arguing about 10th vs. 71st ypg or 24th vs. 47th points/game?

Where I think (don't actually know, and there's a chance I'm way wrong) the comparison will really stand out is with 2013 stats, but I'm a bit pressed for time.

Sumlin's got some locker room cancer growing right now and he needs to do chemotherapy or he'll lose the team for good like Fran did.

The team has clearly regressed during the course of the season. SCAR isn't great, but they're an SEC team and we beat them like a rented mule. We looked aggressive, polished, and deadly. We looked stoned against SMU and they're terrible. Over the past three games we've grown steadily worse until now we're getting fricking blanked. That doesn't just happen. It's not entirely the level of competition. We started out barely trying against Bama and then just quit. That happens when you have MAJOR issues in your locker room.

I was at the game. There is an obvious cancer.

This team came out of the locker room before the game with everyone looking at the ground and not one player trying to find our fans and get us all pumped up. They were never ready to play and did not want to be there. And I saw this before the kickoff.

It seemed like every time we were beaten deep, none of our defenders made any effort to stop a TD after the catch.

I looked at my father-in-law at some point in the first half and said "Football may be a brutal sport, but there's no reason you should have to break a sweat."

I saw one shot of them trotting out onto the field on tv and thought to myself "they ain't ready."

I don't like our new OC. Tech really screwed us when they hired Kliff too early. We haven't recovered from that year 1 run on our staff.

No, he gets the rest if this season and half of next before the temp starts to increase. Not saying it's right but that's the way it is.....deal with it, those with the money decide who's seat is warm and when
