I'd say 60% in this day and age.

I just can't bring myself to get into it/follow it hardcore, but it's vital and even I know a big signee/class can change the course of a school's sports history.

We still basically return 4 starters (Martin would have been the 5th).

The '08 line returned two starters, a 2-star and a 3-star, as well as started 2 true freshmen and a walkon.

We will likely start 2 sophomores (Moore, Green), 1 redshirt junior (McCoy) and 2 seniors (Sutherland, Lanfear). Nowhere near the shitshow of 2008.

Would be fully torqued if that happened but I'm thinking more 7-5.

I think we will go 7-5. Losses to Bama Clemson Auburn and 2 of South Carolina MSU Arkansas LSU.

I think we could jump to 9 wins in 19 and then be really good in 2020. The nice part is I don’t really care if we 7-5. As long as we make a bowl game I’ll be happy this year and will watch every game knowing we are in good shape. Sumlin sucked the enjoyment out of Aggie football the last couple years for me. Even if we won a big game, like Auburn on the road in 2016, it was hard to enjoy it

Thank God for some reasonable football talk. I picked up a month of Premium to read Jake’s story this month (totally worth it, amazing to see insight into the previous coaching staff and how bad it was) but good lord, you can’t have a conversation without chugging koolaide over there. I’ve seen a lot of “anything less than 9 wins will be a disappointment” “seven wins in year one is unacceptable” and plenty more.

I will say this: if we win 10, I won’t be shocked, it will be proof we actually did have good players that sumlin & his staff couldn’t coach up. I also won’t be surprised if we win 6 or 7, we have several positions like OL and CB that are very thin and don’t have a lot of talent.

What’s great is I’m going in with no expectations and realizing that it’s going to take more than a year for Jimbo to install his system and get his kind of players in here.

Just looking at the schedule I think our 3 nonconference games beside Clemson are wins, Arkansas, Kentucky, and Ole Miss should be wins. And everything else is going to be a 50/50 contest at best (or 10/90 in the case of Bama and Clemson).

Its my opinion that any A&M fan legitimately expecting 9+ is delusional at this point. Things can always change as we start playing games and see how good teams really are, but to assume that right now is a bit far fetched.

6-6 is likely given what we put on the field against Wake, but if Sumlin really was mismanaging talent as bad as it looked like he was, we could hit 9 or 10 if things go our way. It’s weird not having that plainly obvious Sumlin ceiling above us anymore, but we lost some important pieces. I hope our WRs figure it out quick.

Have you seen our OL starters composite ratings. They’re not good. Either we’ve coached them up or we are going to really struggle.

I'm thinking a 7 win season. We very well could go 5-7 though if injuries happen at key places. But I think 7 will be the number. 8 if we have some things go our way. Any more than that and we are looking at unicorn land

That's what I'm thinking too. 6-6 being the sweet spot. Our QB situation isn't the greatest, but then again Jimbo has worked magic with dumber players at QB.

I think our QB situation is fine. Starkle is a quality guy and Mond has potential.

"Some" is an understatement. Probably a 1/3 of those people can't even tie their shoes.

In all seriousness, I do expect you guys to do better than you are all anticipating. Energy is a real, tangible asset. Jimbo seems to have brought a lot of it back, and if Elko can make you tough on defense again, I can see you guys winning some you maybe weren't expecting.

The sad thing about this is that every lsu alumn I've met in Houston is very down to earth and can talk football. Very easy going peeps.

Online, it's a whole different story.
