There is a thread on TexAgs where Olin claims (and others verify) that King is the fastest player on the team not named Achane.

In it, a poster shares this:

quote:

The team loves Haynes. My buddy told me that Haynes had to miss bowl practice due to covid, and they found him parked at the fence watching practice and charting plays. Then he couldn't fly with the team, so he paid his own way to the bowl game in case the team needed him.

I don’t know if it’s true or not, but it’s really cool. Might have a legend in the making. Might be off season hype.

Never known Olin to overestimate when it comes to A&M so this seems legit

Reminds me of Rodney Thomas putting money in the vending machine after the team had stolen a bunch of treats out of it (broken)

The stuff I hear about King is eye-opening. Kid was voted #1 by his peers at the Elite 11 even though he didn't win the MVP. His athleticism and football smarts are unreal. Just needs time and reps

Man, you just made me tear up.

That dude was a such a damn beast. It was so fun to watch him tearing up opponents in tandem with Greg Hill.

Let’s just see the kid play. He’s got the skill and he’s got the qb whisperer but he still needs to be a leader in college and not just high school.

Fair point, but I'd rather this be the scuttlebutt being leaked about him than what we heard about, say, Manziel.

Sure. I just know our propensity to suck the new qbs dock before ever seeing him against sec. if he’s that good let jimbo be the one to lay it out why.

If this is true, this kid should be award jersey #12 for the duration.
