Yep. Earned some records, and was the leading SEC rusher. Nothing left to prove. Go get that money. Will be a fan wherever he goes.

Before last night, everything I read put Williams either in the very late rounds or as an undrafted free agent. Last night certainly increased his stock somewhat, but what would a successful senior year do for him? A Heisman candidate year?

No one outside College Station even knew he existed at the beginning of this year, so he wasn’t even in the discussion for major awards, etc. Would he do better over a ten-year career coming out this year as an undrafted free agent, or next year as a first or second rounder?

Thoughts?

He’s a poor kid with a possible league minimum of $200,000+ hanging there.

Do you take $200k now or wait to maybe take 1 m?

If he stays - Good chance he’s on early Heisman list?

Next year’s schedule is brutal.

Hope he stays, but totally understand if he doesn’t.

It’s almost criminal at how little attention he has received this season. No hype from the media at all.

He’s now #3 in total yards from scrimmage for a season in the SEC with 2038 total yards this year. only Derrick Henry (2310) and Leonard Fournette (2206) are higher.

Given his background, I imagine it is a tough call.

How many of US passed up a good job in the oilfield, looking to earn more after 4 years at TAMU. I turned down a good job making (what seemed to be) LOTS of money with a big public accounting firm, to chase more money in law.

Of course, we were not looking at the possibility of injury negating ALL significant future earnings.

I understand that he has a child. Clearly, that is a factor as well.

What I do not understand is why anyone would downvote a discussion of whether it is better for WILLIAMS to take the money now or roll the dice on LOTS more a yera later. Clearly, I would love to see him stay, but my post was playercentric.

League minimum seems like a lot of money to a poor kid, but it would take about three games of Heisman-candidate salary to make up the difference.

He needs some good, trustworthy advisors to help him with this analysis.

I hope he returns. I think the tough schedule will only help him. He will put up numbers against the best. The team may not do as well but I think he can shine.

I completely get it if he’s gone and I wish him all of his dreams plus more but I’d really be stoked if he returned.

With a Big arse insurance policy on his body.
