Today, A&M athletic director Ross Bjork told ESPN reporter Heather Dinich that there were over a dozen players who will be out per Southeastern Conference guidelines regarding contract tracing for 14 days. This would take them out of both the Aggies' game with Tennessee this upcoming weekend as well as A&M's contest with Ole Miss the following Saturday.

It is what it is, nothing we can do but hope for the best.

Any idea on who the 12 are? Perroni is inferring we are losing someone legit

Would we play then? What is the threshold for postponing a game. Didn't I read that LSU is having a second postponement?

I'm thinking if Florida isn't dinged in the rankings for missing LSU, then maybe we won't for Tennessee and Ole Miss since they are lesser teams, if we beat up on Auburn.

The momentum right now seems to point towards postponing the game, and probably next week's game too unfortunately.
There are overall roster numbers (53) and then individual position requirements (7 OL, 1 QB, 4 DL, no other positions specifically listed) that have to be met. If our whole secondary has to quarantine due to contact tracing, and that seems to be the position most directly impacted with Richardson and Carper testing positive, we would likely be forced to postpone.

It sucks to potentially have two weeks off with the momentum we have right now, but getting to rest up in the heart of our season also isn’t the worst.

Game has been postponed. Tentatively scheduled for 12/12,but with a bunch of games getting wiped out, there will probably be some additional shuffling of schedules.

Sucks, but it is what it is. They should’ve started the season earlier to allow for a few make up weekends.
I want to play every game we can. Now looking at LSU fans on their board...... different story. They are elated they get to potentially avoid an asswhipping, they already have one scheduled make up game so they might not have to play Bama at all.

That or not add two more conference games. They prioritized maximizing revenue (understandable since football supports the entire AD) over maximizing flexibility to help finish the season. Hopefully they can figure out how to make the finish as equitable as possible.

They just need to push the SEC championship back

That would help but the CFB playoff committee is being dicks about holding firm on their selection date.

CFB playoff committee is now hedging, which is good for getting the entire season or at least most of it in

Yep. TA is up in arms about it opening the door for the BIG 10, but I'm not worried about anybody but us, and it helps us. Extending the season gives them a better window, but they'll still be at a big disadvantage with their start date, and with thir 21 day rule one big slip up will still take them out.

It probably hurts us more. There were already talks about playing cancelled games alongside the SEC championship game on December 19. The Pac12 has done this in the past with Cal vs Stanford in 2018 being played a day after the Pac12 championship game. I don't think there are any rules against it (or if there are any, they would get waved). I doubt LSU gets a fourth outbreak and Lane Kiffin sounds like he wants to play every game. That leaves Auburn as the next possible cancellation.
I think the current set-up favors us a lot. The playoffs being moved only benefits the Big Ten and Pac12.
