Wanted to have a thread for my fellow Astros fans and maybe have some game chat as well!

In.

Pitching going to do us in. Verlander out - Greinke didn’t look good - James didn’t look good. I realize it’s early, but we are going to lean on McCullers and his surgically repaired arm an awful lot.

There is a lot of be concerned about, but we have more than enough hitting to cover it during the regular season.

At least there is. Chance JV comes back.

Greinke was one game. I wouldn’t go overboard just yet.

LMJ actually looking like turd on a stick the first 2 innings but DPs saved his arse. He did look elite in the exhibition game.

James has the stuff. He just hasn’t put it all together yet.

Framber is not good though. I am hoping one of our prospects can take this spot.

Also Urquidy is coming back. He showed so much promise last year.

Yeah - good to see the hitting panning out. That was my one big concern about the “scandal” - If hitting goes in the tank, everyone thinks they only hit when the cheated.

But the scandal is about what happened in 2017. We’ve hit extremely well since. Right now we’re doing it without Yordan.

I think LMC has the potential to “carry us” for a bit. And Grienke is more than capable. It’s too early to panic especially with the hitting starting to pick up, I just want to split this series with LA

Greinke didn’t “wow” me much last year either. Granted, I didn’t follow him much prior to the Astros.

Is he the third starter as a strategic move, or is he really the third best we have?

He should have been the #2 but the schedule didn’t work out right. He’s a future HOFer. Sure he’s on the back end of his career, but he’s the best control pitcher in baseball.

I think when JV is healthy he’s (Grienke) our 3rd best, LMC is so damn good. But I will say this, I think Grienke was our best pitcher in the WS last year

Not how I wanted the series to go but some promise from Javier is reassuring. And Correa is hitting well, springer needs to find his swing though

We won’t get too far with Altuve, Bregman, & Springer all batting in the 160s. They’ll come around.

Pissing me off we lose to the Dodgers, but it’s 2 of 60. The rookies pitching well is very encouraging.

I'll always have Rangers as number 1 and 'Stros as a very close number 2, but the Rangers went downhill when they pushed Nolan Ryan out of the office.and its gonna take a long time for them to get back on the upswing
