Seroius question: How's everyone handling it
quote:
I'm in Dallas. I wore a Saints cap and sweatshirt, today. Proud of my team.
I was at Home Depot, in the construction area, and a big guy, about 6-2, 240ish and obviously a gym rat, comes down the aisle sporting a Saints cap. We both said hi, and I asked him how he was handling it. He said, "How do I REALLY feel?" He reached into a box on the shelf and pulled out an 18" piece of 3/8" rebar.
He stood there, rebar in one hand and patting his other hand with the rebar, and looked at me and said, "I want to take this and bash the fricking life out of those officials' heads. I want to take three more of these and drive Roger Goodell's hands and feet to the ground, then set him on fire and watch him burn. THAT'S how I REALLY feel."
Then he asked me, "How about you? How do you feel?" I replied, "Bitter and disillusioned."
He replied, "Bitter and disillusioned? I'm WAAAAY past bitter and disillusioned. My blood is boiling like it never has. It's just a damn good thing for those refs and Goodell that I'm civilized and have a family to support."
Then he slid the rebar back in the shelf, said to take it easy, and started back down the aisle, only now he was whistling some tune to himself.
Dude was seriously creepy and obviously not dealing with it well. He needs to get off the steroids, that's for sure. Hope everyone here on TD is okay. I'm seriously bummed and mad, but not homicidal!

I honestly feel as though I have lost a loved one. I know its just a game but here in Louisiana we are often considered unintelligent or crazy country folk. We dont have a lot to be proud of here but we love our Saints as if it's our religion. Drew and Sean came here when they had every reason not to. They brought class and excellence to our team. I wanted this Superbowl for them. For them to be permanently considered amongst the all time greats as multiple championship winners. Now due to the worst non call in sports history, the legacy is forever changed. As a life long Saints fan since the 80s this feeling of depression is all too familiar. It's like pain and disappointment on an unimaginable scale was written into the plans for the Saints by the football gods.

I question that sometimes. Satterfield never discusses politics and this Smart character does. Either way we all know how crazy they both are.

I wonder if its apart of ref training to hate/cheat Louisiana football. Is there any state that the refs hate more?

FWIW, Jordan Moore is going to Houston, not t.u.

I have family members and family friends who are very difficult to talk to after the Saints or LSU lose. It’s bizarre. I guess it’s a low population state with a sketchy reputation, so sports victories have some heightened symbolic importance to them.

It’s hilarious, you can tell they want to just start dropping racial slurs SO frickING BAD

Holy crap somebody brought his dead mother into it.
I have some family members who haven't spoken to each other this week because the Saints loss is just to painful and fresh to talk about yet, and of course they can't talk to each other without talking about the game.
