I have never understood how anyone can be so emotionally attached to an NFL team (or any pro-team). The NFL has shown multiple times that it is strictly a business. They don't see their followers as fans, but more as customers. There is no loyalty to the cities they extort tax dollars out of.

I’d estimate roughly half of all college football fans don’t have a degree from the school they support, and major college programs are run very similarly to professional franchises these days. The biggest difference is the players aren’t paid (at least not officially).
I guess what I’m saying is I don’t really see a huge, fundamental difference.

Speaking of which, I can’t log into my 12th Man account since they switched sites last year. I need to call and get my log in to make my annual donation.

The NFL is for people who didn't go to college.

I know for me personally my attachment to the Saints is due to the fallout of Katrina.
Prior to the storm it seemed like the Saints were destined to leave town at any point as local politicians didn’t want to spend the money needed to keep them there.
But after the storm when they not only stayed, they helped rebuild the psyche of the city as the success of the Drew Brees era mimicked the rebuilding of the town into something better than it once was.
Symbols give people hope, and teams can help communities have a rallying point. I will admit that it doesn’t always happen though.

For those of you that dont want a border wall and are not fans of Trump, the poli board melt is amazing right now. Trump caved and got nothing. The entire shut down was meaningless. And people are angry.

Sure it is. But he still caved and got nothing. He looks weak.

I don't think the wall is an effective solution, but it is needed. I used to think the wall was stupid. But after seeing what went down in Tijuana several weeks ago, I think we need it. Don't get me wrong, I still don't think it is effective at deterring people from jumping over it. But it does slow down the masses who rush the border like they did in Tijuana. The current wall in San Ysidro is the only thing that stopped immigrants from rushing over the border during the holidays.
I've kept up with the news that came out of Tijuana and quite frankly those aren't the type of people we need. Demanding, pushy, and privileged. Immigrants threw away free food because they didn't like it and instead asked for money to buy pizza. They didn't use donated clothes because they weren't Nike or Adidas (this is not a joke). Some of them smoked marijuana and became confrontational when told to quit. Every caravan left each town they passed thru looking like a war zone littered with trash and human excrement (also not a joke). A few of them broke into private property and stole from locals. A lot of them demanded public services that even local Mexicans don't get and then cried about it when it was not up to their standard. A large portion of them did not do what they were told by local officials in order to minimize clashes with locals.
The stories are endless.
Pueblo Sin Fronteras should be investigated for their tactics
They have caused unrest not only on our border, but in Mexico. Many immigrants themselves have said that they were told lies and given fake promises by organizers. Now many of them are stuck in Tijuana with no way of going home and no way into the US. Pueblo Sin Fronteras riled up these uneducated and poor folks and used them as political pawns. How this isn't front page news is beyond me.

You're shocked that the mainstream news media didn't put that story front and center?

Not really shocked it wasn't front headline news.
But I am perplexed that it didn't even make conservative news outlets.

Randolph Duke/Smart Post broke out the alter that hilariously threatened to prove I was impersonating an Army Officer.
Montgomery Hill is back.
Who could forget this classic?

Did he really try to doxx you because you mentioned where you had been stationed?
I really wouldn't mind if I opened up the ol' newspaper and read that Charles Satterfield had perished in tragic and comedic fashion.

If so, it was a horribly pathetic attempt.
His "proof" came down to the fact that I wasn't a battalion commander...since, according to him "Majors usually command battalions", and the fact that he knew every Brigade that deployed from Lewis to Korea (which is, of course ZERO since no Brigade has ever deployed on a Korea rotation - they just started in 2013)

Less liucci’s fault, more Brandon’s. He even says in that thread they were sort of friends. I read through it all and wow, that guy screwed some people over big time, and sounds like he has even bigger personal problems.
