No I don't agree with that at all. The numbers may be higher passing wise but it was so much more predictable that year. Far too often it was just heave it up to Evans and pray. I honestly think that Tech job opening up was a fatal blow to Sumlin. After that he never had another OC who could communicate worth a damn to his players. Kliff has proven that if anything he can get pretty good play out of damn near anyone he has running the offense.

He was a more polished passer in 2013. He seemed to just let loose in 2012. I’d take the 2012 offense over the 2013. Both are better than any other offense we’ve had in our history. I think it’s fairly clear it was due to Johnny, not his OCs.

Kliff has been blessed with ridiculous QB talent between Keenum, JFF, Mayfield, & Mahomes.

Fwiw our efficiency numbers are/were very slightly higher in 2013 than they were in 2012

We also played a very good Florida and Oklahoma team in 12 and in 13 we played Vanderbilt and Duke.

I was under the impression that s&p and fei factor in strength of schedule but I may be wrong

So sumlin’s mean letter writer was arrested back in November of last year. Did I miss this or is this new news?

Color me surprised, I would’ve bet money it was Charlene herself.

What if Kliff hires Spav? Is that something you might be interested in?

Here too. I got downvoted for even suggesting it could be real.

I am fully prepared to blame all ills that happened under Sumlin on Sumlin. He had a green coach who followed his terrible example who had to relearn how to conduct himself from Holgo.

Besides, Kliff will probably script the early plays and overrule anythign eh doesn't like. Spav would likely be more of an organizer.

It's a shitty thing for him to leave Texas State like this though. Leaving as a coordinator is one thing, ditching out when you are the head coach before you ever coach a game is pretty shitty.

It was hilarious to me our fans who thought we wouldn’t have someone unhinged enough in our fan base to do something like that

I don’t understand what Spav brings to the NFL level. Spav was a recruiter plain and simple, and a pretty good one for all his other faults. That’s why I understood a program like Texas State taking a chance on him. This makes no sense to me

Kliff is making the same mistake he made at Tech filling up his staff with his buddies

There were also some people who suggested they got divorced b/c of her writing that letter.

Maybe Rosen likes him? He's probably well liked by most young players not named Kyler.
