I hope that is not true. I really wanted that guy to have success. I still do, honestly. There's just something about him that I've always liked.
That said, our program certainly seems to be in much, much better shape now. We might have walked into real problems as a program if we hadn't fired him when we did. I appreciate the big money Ags who financed it.

Sumlin does indeed have a drinking problem. I hope he gets help. I can't tell you how many bottles of whiskey were loaded and consumed on private jets he occupied but the number is quite large.

I’ve been telling y’all for 4 years he had a drinking problem. You don’t get sent home from practice for being hungover or have personnel assigned to getting you home safely without having an underlying problem.
It’s not why he and his wife split though, at least not the entire reason. Sumlin was...let’s say a bit of a flirt when he drank (which was a lot).

Sumlin looks like he has lost weight over at AZ. Maybe he had a wake up call or maybe his liver is fricked and he is so stressed/down due to divorce, that he is shedding weight. Hard to tell.
I don't wish the guy ill. Hope he is successful and straightens it all out. That job at any school, is stressful as hell. Players obviously like him, so he isn't a POS.
