As far as any sort of tournament run, quality pitching depth is really my concern. I think it’s imperative we stay on the winners side of the bracket to have a good chance of advancing out of a regional (duh, but more so than usual) Maybe we can just outscore teams 16-10 and it won’t matter. With Schloss and Yeskie I don’t think that will be a concern for many seasons after this though

11.41 ... wow. Should be a high-scoring game

Offense was a little sluggish but then turned it on. Rock is having a night.

Looked like crap early on, then cruised to a comfortable win

Rough start. If we don’t win today it’ll be very hard to win the series. They have their ace Sat and their most successful starter on Sunday.

Sun in Moss’s eye leads to another run.

No RPI help but we’re still in second in the west. Good that we’re ahead of Auburn but less and less likely to pass Arkansas.

Now, can Dallas get back to his early season form? If so, might be a fun team to watch down the stretch, even on Saturday ;)

I was at the game today and watching Dallas it's become clear he is pressing beyond belief. And it's getting him lit up faster than a Christmas tree. I'm really wondering if the answer isn't to move him to the pen and run someone else out on Saturday/Game 2.

And watching the team battle and rally twice was absolutely fantastic.

Schlossnagle was an absolutely brilliant hire.

Yeah time for Dallas to retire to the pen and pitch relief. Give somebody else the start, or move Rudis to Saturday

This might be my favorite Aggie baseball team ever

They can score like some of MJ’s old teams used to. The amount of runs they are putting up in SEC play is impressive

Holy shite our RPI nose dived with todays loss. A nation seed just became a lot less likely. I think we’ll need to win both series with one being a sweep. 19 SEC should be the # we need. Regardless, we’re still in a good spot to host.

I don’t think so. I see another big RPI hit coming next weekend with MSU. Their RPI is terrible, and this team doesn’t have the arms to sweep anyone in SEC play.

Schloss canceled the IW game.

He is not fricking around. No wasting paper-thin pitching. No additional RPI hit.

Some Twitter comments
@KendallRogers
A&M cancelled a second midweek game this week, and Jim Schlossnagle didn’t hide from the reasoning. Like the honesty here.

Replying to @KendallRogers
Boy, that feels like a good argument to reevaluate RPI, doesn't it?

@KendallRogers
Zero question. The fact there are still teams dropping 8-9 spots in the RPI from playing a single game this late in the season is an issue IMO.

@MattBrownEP
Dumb question from a filthy casual, but have you written anything about what you (or coaches) would like instead? I wouldn't even know where to start!

@KendallRogers
One thing we’ve discussed in the past (myself and
@aaronfitt) is the idea of dropping your three or four lowest RPI games from the RPI equation. In baseball, some teams have limited possible midweek opponents. That shouldn’t hurt them in the RPI.

**I really like this idea

No upside in playing the midweek game. The RPI drops even with a win. It's already going to fall the next two weeks

Cancelling IW is horse shite. No other way around it. It's the schedule that was made and you play it.

Any moral equivocation of blessing the dodge is equally sorry.
