Hamm said that our staff went weeks sometimes without contacting Sheff. And Sheff's father only spoke to Sumlin once in three years. Something to that extent.

Tyron has officially signed.
I'm not going to get too much into his personal info, but he reached out to our coaches because his family is probably moving to Houston. He loves LSU but he also loves his fam and he'd like to be close so they were talking about coming in to visit this coming weekend and discussing it.
It was very real and initiated on his end but they didn't want it out there because there is a lot of pressure on these guys at this point. It hit the boards yesterday and it was passed to LSU coaches who apparently shut it down. Again, there was never a guarantee to flip, just explore options and think more.

UCLA's DC just hired away by Falcons. LINK / Wonder if that is why Smith now appears to be reconsidering his UCLA commit (no letter sent yet). This was his lead recruiter; and he's now gone. Would seem GA would be his likely landing spot. How crappy is it to recruits for a DC to not let you know he's leaving until the day you sign your LOI?

Just read the UCLA's DC is leaving to take a gig with the Falcons.

Hamm reported that Sheffield's family said that Sumlin called maybe three times in a year (or something like that) and that sometimes weeks went by between calls from anyone at A&M.
Is any of that true? It seems incomprehensible to me that a staff that puts so many eggs in one basket would not monitor that basket like a hawk. So I have a hard time believing that we really did drop the ball on Sheffield the way it's being claimed we did.
