I would encourage my children to play other sports(golf, basketball, tennis). If Mike fricking Ditka feels that way too, well, it's good enough for me to feel confident guiding my kids away from playing football.

Enjoy the next 20 years of American football. It's the glory years. I'm not saying it won't exist in 50 years, but I don't think it will exist in its current form.

My prediction is that many colleges(over half) will stop playing. It will hurt the other sports most. There will just be the 60 or so powerful schools(including A&M) playing on the highest stage(for money and well paid players). Most colleges will stop playing because most high schools will stop offering football. The talent pool will dry up. Everywhere outside of the southeast and texas is taking this more seriously.

As far as NFL. In the words of Mark Cuban, "pigs get fat and hogs get slaughtered. The NFL is a hog." The whole Thursday night thing and wanting to dominate everything is really off putting. More lawsuits will come. We're already starting to see things in the NFL change. If Joe Montana and Jerry Rice played in 2015, they'd have 80 TD's a year with the way the rules are tilted. It's all about the offense and QB and fantasy football. Every year it moves closer to touch football.

As far as sports in general. I look for basketball and soccer to rise in popularity. Baseball has such an old audience. It's always going to be relevant since its Americas pastime, but the popularity has been shrinking for decades. In the 1920's the biggest sports were Baseball, Boxing, horse racing, college football. Things change over time and popularity rises and falls
Offensive line is the key to success in 2015

We aren't in the Big XII anymore.

The 12th ranked class was good enough for 4th in the division and 7th in the conference. Will you be ok with regularly being the 7th best team in the SEC? Because if not then your acceptance of our current ranking as good enough is inconsistent.

Agree. The old Aggie way of thinking was always short sighted. This is a different opportunity than anything ever granted to A&M before. There's about 15-20 schools at any one point in time that have a chance to win a title and we have a shot to enter that grouping for the first time ever. LSU is who we need to knock off to become a yearly contender. Beat them on and off the field and #2 in the SECw echelon is good enough for playoff consideration.

We've been owned by OU, Texas, and LSU for years. This is a real opportunity to steal some of their power. That's why this is so important to get right. There's a vacuum in this region we need to step up and fill

Not a flame, but what's your point with the whole Saban is the greatest ever messege?

Yeah he's an all time great. It's a perfect storm of events that's led Bama to this magical run. They can still be beaten by one of about a dozen schools like tOSU who recruit on a high level

Not that I know anything, JMHO, but I don't think Sumlin and/or his staff know how to recruit in the SEC. Ignoring players for weeks at a time don't cut it when recruiting against Bama and LSU. I know Sumlin and his recruiting coordinator cut their teeth in the Big 12, but you ain't gonna out recruit Saban and Miles with that weak shite.

It's puzzling. Sumlin's hired great guys on his staff that worked hard in every way like Beaty, Polian, Kliff.......with Chavis and Sumlin as the foundation of the staff, we need 8 dogs surrounding them that can coach and recruit at a high level. If you can't social media or be on these kids all the time then GTFO

Very interesting rumors. It's on Sumlin to replace them if that's remotely true. He can't afford to make any more mistakes on the coaching staff.

It makes you wonder, who is Sumlin going to for advice on these decisions?

Agree with Tmc.

Biggest difference between Sumlin vs Saban isn't personality or some magic words he whispers that Sumlin refuses to say.

It's A&M vs Bama

Everyone that matters loves Sumlin. He's made mistakes and now Sumlin must prove it on the field like Saban did.

What would the reason be why Joseph and McKinney would be problems?

What about Jaylon Lane? Why hasn't he been picked up?

I really hope Murray redshirts, but if Allen struggles consequently early and often, I wouldn't be surprised if he's given the key to the Ferrari so to speak. The only ones definitely not redshirting are Mack, Lockhart, Kirk, and Jordan Davis. Everyone could theoretically.

I have a hard time seeing Lockhart coming in August and recieving any playing time.

DL

WDE: Garrett/Hall
DT: Mack/Walker
NT: Williams/Henderson
SDE: Obioha/Cunningham

Also Johnson, Arnold, Washington, Manning, Jackson, Chevis fighting for what little playing time after our top 8. A 3rd unit of Johnson/Washington/Manning/Jackson or whoever ends up being best would make for a very salty DL.

Not sure why it wouldn't be more beneficial for Lockhart and KeKe to both redshirt

The kid is from a small town in GA. He's not some ATL kid who's lived his whole life in a big city. We don't know what his reasoning for UCLA was besides they were first and he says things about wanting to blaze his own trail

These extra few days help Michigan and A&M. The UCLA coach will either leave or stay. And you know UGA fans will be all over him trying to get him to stay.
My guess:

Kyler Murray - Redshirt.

Kendall Bussey - Play. Mainly bc of 2016 and Trey leaving

Christian Kirk - He could be starting by the end of the Spring if he passed Tabuyo up. START

All OL - OL is the biggest concern going into next year. It's hard to know how good our current players are, but outside of Ifedi and Matthews there's concerns. Hopefully freshman aren't needed

James Lockhart - Redshirt and possibly change positions to MLB. It kinda makes sense with the 2016 talent pool being DL heavy

Daylon Mack - START...but not until the middle of the season (like Myles Garrett)

Kingsley KeKe - PLAY if Washington and Manning are busts. If one steps up he redshirts

Claude George, Richard Moore, Landis Durham, Dwayne Thomas - Each has a chance to play. We're desperate. The EE's have the inside shot

All DBs - PLAY. Evans, Dunning, and Pryor are all candidates to start...Elam and DCS will play. No choice with how poorly last year went

LaCamera - REDSHIRT.

We would for sure have wrecking crew level front 7 with Smith
Sounds like he wants to get away from helicopter mom

The 2012 and 2013 classes were overrated. Too many grade issues, character issues, and offensive skill position players bound to transfer.

The 2014 and 2015 classes are the real deal. It's time to win on the field

Well, juco players often wait until the dust settles. Maybe it's a juco CB that Chavis has his eye on.

Roquan Smith, Tyron Johnson, Marvell Tell

247 lists them without signing LOI. Any new news?

Yeah that doesn't make sense to me, we never talked to a 5 star db who bama was recruiting too? Doesn't make sense

Especially when Saban skypes with him every Sunday

This has bag man written all over it and we weren't the highest bidder
