Yep. The number of sellouts and the strong second-hand market all season is indicative we're a bit small; especially when you look at some of the other SEC facilities.
Put in a request for all-session tickets ahead of time and was told I got them and would have them later today. Still don't see them. The e-mail I got saying I would have them said "There is no secondary market on Flash Seats for NCAA events." I take this to mean the tickets can be transferred, but there will be no marketplace as was the case for other games. Looks like you'll have to buy them off TexAgs or Craigslist and have someone transfer the Flash Seats to you if you need them. That wasn't the case last year. I paid a pretty penny on Flash Seats for the final Cal game.

Oh, and I'm not a season ticket holder but was offered the pre-sale. I was under the impression the pre-sale a few weeks back was for all 12th Man Foundation members, regardless of whether they were BB season ticket holders....

We got real seats for the Regional; but lawn for the super regional. Not sure how many. A friend requested 6, called, and was told he only got 4. So assuming we got 4.

Was told by a friend they're melting on TexAgs about the fact there is no Flash Seats second-hand market. Apparently a bunch of Ags bought them to make a buck, and are now pissed there is no easy way to sell them.
Well, tonight sucked. But it was a helluva ride. Arguably the best in Aggie basketball history; and certainly one of the three best. Wish we would have played with more urgency in the beginning. We went up, but behind the three-ball you knew we couldn't maintain. Needed to ram it down their throats with Davis, and our seniors (and coach) didn't make it a point to get him the ball in the first half. All in all, it was a fun ride. Time for baseball!

I’m not much on the doom and gloom stuff that’s dominating the board lately. It’s going to be a wild couple of weeks, but I think A&M’s going to end up with a class in or around the top 10. It’s not going to be a disaster.
I must admit I've enjoyed reading the board a lot more now that we're a more positive group. This year has already been special, and has the potential to eclipse anything BCG gave us. Sitting at the LSU game was something else....I hadn't seen anything that electric since the days of Acie Law and BCG in terms of environment. We have some good challenges at home and on the road on tap. We'll likely be favored in every game we have left. Who thought that would be the case at this point?
Founds this interesting. Kennedy is just behind Metcalf; and well behind Gillespie/Turg. Kennedy may have the third-best winning % of any coach we've had since '64 (despite being average compared to the win % over that period), by the end of the year. He will never catch Turg/Gillespie. But could be Metcalf+. I totally agree that he may be an excellent recruiter who isn't the best coach in terms of X's and O's. The real question is, "What level of excellence is expected of a HBC at A&M?" Once upon a time Metcalf-like performance was acceptable. I'm not sure where the expectation is now. I'd say "make the NCAA tournament consistently" seems to the bar, and Kennedy has yet to meet it....

Wins Losses Win % Coach Years Coached
438 306 58.9% Metcalf 64-90
5 7 41.7% Thornton 90
8 13 41.7% Davis 90-91
76 120 38.8% Barrone 91-98
61 112 35.3% Watkins 98-04
70 26 72.9% Gillespie 04-07
97 40 70.8% Turgeon 07-11
78 63 55.3% Kennedy 11-current

833 687 54.7% Total since '64

Here's something to think about....A&M rankings at end of season....this is our history. We have a VERY poor basketball history...and a fanbase that doesn't seem to realize men's bball is a sport....The fact you guys care puts you in the upper 2% of Ags...

Season Coaches rank
1950-1951 18
1963-1964 18
1979-1980 18
2006-2007 9
2009-2010 24
2010-2011 20
My bad. Meant "BG" not "BK." And I totally agree that the SEC is ripe for racking up wins (just as our football schedule was the same this year).

On what Turgeon would do with this talent, the point is moot, as Turg couldn't bring in this type of talent. He is accountable for his own recruiting in his later tenure here. Although I'll say he's doing great at Maryland.

Keep in mind he left with scathing remarks for our fanbase (IE, all of you), due to the lack of support provided to ranked teams.
I don't even know how to respond to some of this stuff, like metrics showing team degeneration despite improved W/L record, improved postseason tourneys, etc. As far as a top 10 recruiting class of freshman equaling a sweet 16 berth, I'm not sure where you'd go besides Michigan's Fab 5. Because most programs pulling top 10 classes aren't in the crapper like our program in terms of talent. Kennedy (I mean, Stansbury) did a good job of getting guys like House and Jones in. Now a phenomenal job of bringing in top talent. Recruiting is half of the deal in basketball. At worst, we have a coach who kicks butt on the recruiting trail and is a poor coach. When you look at A&M's history, only BG did both. On the Fab 5....Michigan fired Fisher and a big knock was he couldn't coach. All he did was go to SDSU and revolutionize a program on his coaching ability. Be careful what you ask for. A&M isn't a destination job in basketball. Our fans can't even fill half the place up when we're a top 25 team...
I'm not sold on Kennedy, but just looking at stats/facts, he's showed slow but steady improvement on record over his career with few exceptions. That's his MO. Why isn't anyone excited about this?:

2012–13 Texas A&M 18–15 7–11
2013–14 Texas A&M 18–16 8–10
2014–15 Texas A&M 21–12 11–7

A&M football should expect to compete for conference titles. A&M basketball, while I love it and am a season ticket holder, has been one of the worst major conference programs, historically. At this point, we should be happy to make NCAA tourneys. Kennedy is clearly taking us there this year (my bad, if it's a positive, Stansbury is taking us there). So why the melt?

Seems we're really struggling with running sets, etc. Feels like an unorganized game of pickup ball, watching us. Seniors get aggressive and we can get into transition....we look good. Seniors not ready to go (like first half tonight) and we can't get easy transition buckets....we look bad.

I'm concerned about this team, but they are clearly immensely talented. They clearly need to improve and have a lot of upside.

Serious question, though....so when we're rolling, it's because Stansbury is a genius and Kennedy sucks. But when we look poor, I can't find Stansbury's name on this thread? Stansbury is in the rare position of getting all credit and no blame for results. And Kennedy is in the rare position of no credit and all blame. What gives? Keeping in mind I'm not a Kennedy fan....I just find it humorous that a guy from Miss State basketball can do no wrong....
You're right. Pinkel was 22-25 his first four years at Mizzou. Briles was 25-25 his first four at Baylor. Sumlin is 33-13 (with several games left this season). Thanks for the perspective.... Found the sunshine. I can sleep now. We should still finish with 9 wins.
I had not heard about the blowup (busy week) until I jumped on here after the game. It was so obvious Murray was in the doghouse during the game. From Harris coming over and asking "Why aren't you in?" to Sumlin's reluctance to pull him to what seemed to be like apathy from several of the receivers (I even wondered, "Are they trying to drop them/make Allen look bad?") on the few passes Allen threw that should have been caught. I told my wife, "Murray is in the doghouse for something." In hindsight, given what apparently is going on, it appears Allen is feeling the pressure and crumbling under it. There's no telling how bad this gets. I could see us dropping to Auburn or Vandy if this doesn't get corrected fast. Why have we had consecutive years of fractured locker rooms?
Yeah, when you look at what guys like Gary Pinkel, Art Briles, and this year Jim Harbaugh have done with lesser talent, it makes me wonder why we keep saying we have to stack another 15 top 10 recruiting classes before we have a shot. At some point, we can't keep beating the recruiting drum; at some point we've got to look at coaching/development.
Sorry, all. I'm just not good at melting. My time is normally spent pumping sunshine. But tonight, I can find any to pump. Had Hubanek started, we might have had a shot. I disagree that it was an entire team effort tonight. We held Ole Miss 20 points below their season average, and still got blown out. Sure, there were guys who had off nights. But the night Kyle Allen had light years beyond an off night. Have a game manager at QB the last two weeks and we're in tight ones at the end. Spav is the QB coach. Is he not accountable for developing these guys?
I meant this tongue in cheek:

Fire Spav and we instantly become contenders for a division crown

Obviously we'd have to hire a competent OC. But we DID become defensively legitimate overnight by firing our DC and getting one who knows what he's doing. There's $500B spent on a new stadium, paid primarily by butts in seats the first 5 years (capital contribution). We have a lot riding on having a team that shows improvement. That's well worth and extra $1M for an established OC.

Why does it seem like we're always 1-2 years away?
Fire Spav and we instantly become contenders for a division crown.
This:

Chavis was worth far more than Malik Jefferson.

A good OC is worth far more than a 2017 recruit.
Does anyone have a clue as to why Kyler Murray didn't play and we stuck with Allen for 22 straight passes with no positive yards?
