I don’t give a shite and this board’s daily melt/obsession over Kiffin is epic. A lot of the posters on this board seem to think that Kiffin is the second coming of Saban.

LSU has spent $43 million on buyouts the last 10 years. Assuming they have to pay Kelly $54 million, that will be $97 million, or $10 million per year.
If they pay Kiffin $15 million/year they will be spending $25 million/year for their new coach.

LSU lets Kelly go in the middle of his third season, fired-not-fired, now fired again ... while attempting to not pay him his buyout. Yet, at the same time mind you, attempting to enticing the conference 'prostitute' to come join them for record money... because many of LSU fans (at least on this site) are willing for a happy ending (of a natty), even if it means he leaves in 5 years.
Yeah, this is going to work out well... for the competition.

Assume whatever Landry says is…not right.
Taxpayers are not paying a cent towards Kelly’s buyout. It will be covered by athletic department revenues + donor contributions.
LSU athletic department reported $220M in revenue for 2024; if you care about the facts, there they are.
