I know this is an LSU message board, but good Lord why is anybody ranking them in the top 5, especially after that abortion of a first half.
And I really am not half as impressed by LSU's win over Clemson as the rest of the board seems to be. Especially after Clemson beat Ga Southern at home by a whopping 15 points.
And apparently Ga Southern was playing basically the whole game with an injured QB who could barely walk (but Ga Southern coach Clay Helton refused to bring in a backup), and Helton coached a total abortion of a game but still went to nearly the final minute of the game with a slim chance of winning. (Ga Southern drove to the Clemson 2 yard line with a chance to cut it to 22-14 and then recover an onside kick but ended up turning it over on downs.) Apparently there was even a debacle where Clemson almost safetied themselves while kneeling out the game. Here is the r/cfb thread about that game. LINK

Power rankings or season rankings?
Because like season rankings I'm not sure Georgia is really top5 right now. Haven't' really played anyone. Other teams have better wins.
But power rankings I would definitely include them.

Ranking you guys 3rd is very fair imo. Yall played extremely sloppy against Ohio State. Their offense was extremely unimpressive and for some reason they were extremely timid.
Either way they weren’t able to punish you for the sloppy play of Texas tonight. If yall had been playing UGA or Miami or LSU or a few others and turned it he ball over twice in the first four offensive plays from scrimmage you would’ve been ran out of your stadium because those teams would have actually made you pay for them.
I think Texas can get that kind of stuff cleaned up, and I want to reward them for having the best win of the season, I also think Arch looked very good. That means 3 imo is a fair spot for you
The rest of what you said is simply hypothetical. Other than LSU beating an awful Clemson with a stubborn coach who the game has passed by 3 seasons ago, what makes you think any of the teams you mentioned can do to Texas what the #1 team full of future NFL players couldn't?
Edit- just to be clear, I'm totally fine with #3. In fact as long as we're still top 5 when playoff spots are selected it's all good. The #1 ranking only means something in January, not September.

LSU’s defense is the truth brother this is ‘03 ‘06-07 ‘11-12 you’re not doing shite unless you are spectacular on offense.

I agree with you but I also think Curt Cignetti has proven himself to be an elite coach who can win with almost any QB. Cignetti's first year at Indiana was 2024 and he had Kurtis Rourke at QB, who transferred to Indiana from the little ol' Ohio Bobcats. Still, Indiana went 11-2 and made the playoffs in Cignetti's first season. Then last year, Cignetti signed Fernando Mendoza from the transfer portal after he had been the QB at Cal. We all know how that turned out.
So now this year Cignetti has another transfer QB, his 3rd transfer QB in 3 seasons at Indiana, and they're blowing out teams as usual but, like you said, they haven't faced a good team these first 2 weeks of the season. Seeing how Cignetti is now 29-2 since taking the Indiana job and he's made the playoffs both years and has done it with a different QB every season, I think they'll be very good again this year. Kinda how great coaches like Spurrier, Saban, Kirby Smart, etc., have always gotten the benefit of the doubt from voters when starting a season with a new QB, that's how I look at Cignetti and Indiana this year. He has proven he wins, no matter who his QB is, so that's why most people have Indiana in their top 5.
