“Your no bama fan” “we always win in BR”

Blah. Blah. You show your intelligence when “your no bama fan” is the reason bama might lose. Let’s just look at football.

Quarterback: Close to a push. I want to give Alabama the advantage here and maybe ever so slightly. Sam leavitt is a fire cracker and he might rip you to pieces he might put 6 in the endzone for Alabama. Slight advantage Alabama officially

RB: unless Crowell is unleashed like Shaun Alexander in 1996, this is an easy win for LSU

TE: push

OL: Bama’s oline has run the ball much better this year but when they are leaking oil on the pass rush keelon has been brutalized. This is where the game will be won for Alabama. Give Russell clean pockets LSU in trouble. I don’t see this happening. LSU o line nothing special, not bad but I believe they will lean on bama with the up the middle run

DL LSU DEEPER
LB LSU
Secondary Alabama

Kicking game you never know

The reason LSU will win big is the same reason Tennessee won big. What makes us think we can suddenly plug the middle for 4 long quarters? And kiffin will run it there as nasueam until we break. That isn’t a weakness I enjoy
Obviously bama can win if keelon has a heisman day and we win the turnover battle. Keelon heisman day is dependent on the line and WRS cause if he has time he will shred you

I’d have all the confidence in the world in bama if not for this shotty run defense

LSU has a nasty secondary including DJ Pickett, who is projected to be the first corner off the board in 2028. They had to scramble a bit at safety after losing Deshawn Spears for the year. He was projected early 2nd rounder. Other than that, it's been rock solid all year.

In addition, Alabama is giving up 224 passing yards per game. LSU is at 184.

This is response to you giving the edge to Bama in the secondary.

Terrence Green is the key to the game.

If he stops LSUs rushing attack and forces Leavit to throw, we can make plays in the secondary.

Here's an in-depth comparison if you want to look at more than raw stats

Nah, Kiffin is gonna overthink this and do something dumb, like going for it on 4th down at the wrong time.

Leavitt vs Russell

In fairness, it's hard to compare through statistics at this point. Alabama has played a tougher schedule to this point, but LSU is looking at the toughest part of their schedule over three weeks.

Out of curiosity, I checked the stats against the games both teams lost.

Leavitt: Ole Miss 16/27 158yards 1TD 1Int 2sacks
Leavitt: Kentucky 25/34 275yards 2TD 1Int 3sacks

Russel: Georgia 16/30 185yards 1TD 0Int 4sacks
Russel: Tennessee 19/29 147yards 0Td 2Int 5sacks

If Alabama wants to win they absolutely will have to protect Russel and keep him from getting sacked. Unmanmielen for LSU is formidable in the pass rush, and Alabama will need to neutralize him somehow.
Pierre and Henry leads Alabama in sacks, so it will be interesting to see how they try to keep the pocket clean for Leavitt.

I am really looking forward to this game. Should be a barn burner.

OP, your score is a good guess. I am saying about the same. I think by the 4th quarter we are in melt-mode about like the Tenn game.

Strictly on paper, LSU should win today, by a big margin. But I've attended games in the past vs LSU and Alabama in Tiger Stadium, where the Tigers were favored, and clearly the better team -- yet they lost! Bama has a hex on the Tigers, on their home field. It's uncanny

Why bama is the best roster an already two loss lsu would’ve seen this year. Some kinda match up advantage you think will get exploited?

Geralds and Ross are tied for second with five sacks apiece. The pressure comes from everywhere.

Cheer up.

The best thing that ever happened to Alabama football was Sylvester Croom beating Mike Shula in Tuscaloosa in 2006.

I didn't notice that. It's an excellent point. One of Alabama's problems has been protecting Russell against their better competition, so if Alabama wants to win, they will have to protect him. Or, they could help by throwing short passes designed to get the ball out of his hands faster...maybe throwing quick hitters over the middle that is being vacated by pass rushers?

LSU is a bit more difficult to assess. They struggled to throw the ball against Ole Miss but ran extremely well, then did just the opposite against Kentucky.

Almost a pick your poison situation. If you clamp down on the run LSU passes, and if you sell out to stop the pass they are able to run the ball.

Alabama will either have to drum it into Keelon's head to throw the ball away, or throw quicker, shorter passes.

If we have to alter by throwing short passes, that will not workout for us long term in the game.
