I had a pine tree get hit right next to my house 2 months ago. Took out the tankless water heater & 2 motion detection lights. Doesn’t seem like a joke to me

Society is run by day time talk show, Facebook mom idiocy. I bet more people die as a result of mass sporting events and alcohol than lightning

What’s really amazing is people still get killed by lightning in the US given the technology that detects lightning. It’s understandable if you can’t get out of the way but continuing to remain in danger when you have a choice is just foolish. Complains about lightning warnings and delays is akin to complaint about air bags, seat belts and anti lock brakes…..

Meteorologists aren’t part of this whatsoever. Lightning is detected by the radar and everything is done autonomously.

People can not be forced to leave game seats they have paid for. If they go down under the stands they miss nothing though.
