Can someone explain why Arkansas fans hated this hire? I am unfamiliar with their search process.

I said earlier this week we took our daughter up there to visit in spring and we were all blown away how nice and pretty

Agree, we did that trip in the spring also. The Silverfield hire was a disaster immediately. Arkansas needs to clean house with the AD and Silverfield.

We had a jump start on everyone else.
We ended up with a guy that never won his conference, never even played in the conference championship. Had more money and resources than any other school in that conference.
Keep in mind prior to the hire it has been an absolute shite show in Fayetteville other than Pittman's 2021 season.
So it's abundantly clear we needed a homerun hire. Someone that knew how to run a program and be successful, and we hired Ryan Silverfield.
We were pissed, and rightfully so, BUT after we got over the frustration of the hire, we still wanted to believe that it would be better. But after two games I've seen some of the worst football I've ever witnessed in my life. No discipline, no offense, bunch of bullshite. WE ARE SICK OF IT

2 SEC schools I don’t really hate are Ark and UGA. Petrino glory days feel ancient at this point.

It isn't because they dislike Silverfield, it's because the AD didn't bother trying.
The issue is with the AD.
No one knows who was on the list. They either didn't want to come here or they didn't want to dig deeper in the search.

Basically Golesh was nearly locked in. Then it leaked early while he was still putting pretty much all of his energy into coaching FAU’s senior night and it rustled his jimmies.
Then a better job offer came in (Auburn), which he ultimately accepted.

Arkansas needs to hire a coach with a passion for Arkansas. Instead they hired some grifter without the success to back it up.
Kinda had it with Pittman there for like a second but the SEC is a meat grinder

That obviously didn't help, we had a lot of fans interested in Golesh.
But majority of fans wanted someone even better than him. And I guarantee Auburn fans felt the same.
And yet you all ended up with him and we got Silverfield. Memphis was glad to see him go.
