I am sure if he could keep the off the field issues behind him and stayed focused on the game but Jameis Winston would have been nice in 2013 & 14 for us

Jalen Ramsey. It was like Dooley didn't even try to land him and by the time Jones got to Tennessee, it was too late. Same with Vonn Bell, although I think we were much closer to landing Ramsey.

Harrison Smith and Golden Tate were also huge whiffs by Fulmer.

LSU fans need to quit saying Dak Prescott. There would be no NFL QB named Dak Prescott if he chose LSU.

Warrick Dunn and Marshall Faulk.
LSU was in the wilderness then and every great player left the State .

Agreed...he was all in with Sumlin, but then RC, Sumlin etc got fired, and then Sumlin ended up as an asset at OU, and he went there.

Shea by a fuching mile. 5* QB in Shreveport and when we brought in his brother on stafff I knew it was only a matter of time. Went to hell in a hand basket and we ended up with Lindsey Scott. A 5'10", low 3* that chose between us and Harvard.

More coaches need to have the common sense to tell a highly-ranked recruit that they're interested in what the recruit wants to play and then work out the details once the kid is on campus. It does no good to recruit a player for a position you want him to play if that ends up costing you the recruiting battle.

In other words, if Derrick Henry insists on being a fricking RB, listen to him. Players aren't going to go to a program they might happen to like just to play a position they don't want to play. At the very least, tell the player you'll give him a fair shot at playing that position in return for his pledge that if he can't hack that position at the college level, he'll give the position you think he'd be best at a fair shot.

Herschel Walker ... we had him until he was told he'd have to block for George Rogers.

Dammit.

That one still bothers me ... we should have lied to him, signed him, then made him block for Boo.

Stafford was a freshman when Cam was being recruited so to me that one didn't sting. But Watson on the other hand...............

If Mullen had his shot with Cam he may have turned into a quality NFL starter.

Peyton & Frank Gore.

I use two because while it would look like we had a great shot at Peyton, the NCAA investigation really never had us in it. Gore was committed to us until NSD and flipped to Miami. He would have been Eli's running back.
